  1. I uploaded a document that gives instructions. If the vet has atropine, that is helpful too, after you've done the emergency treatment, which has to be done right away. Don't wait. Treatment for toad poisoning.doc
  2. Oh yes, the 50s, when women weren't allowed to do anything. They gotta be kidding being nostalgic about this era.
  3. until

I was going to go to this, but after trying to park near the library the day before, I decided not to go. The street behind the library, which usually had a fair amount of parking spaces, now has deep ditches on both sides of the road, making parking impossible.
  4. At Romero it seems the guys who dispense fish at the end of the meat counter are not allowed to come down to the meat end, even if there is only one customer and nobody at the meat end. Maybe there is a division of labor behind meat counters in Panama that workers dare not cross.
  5. You got a cedula for $65? Did you do it yourself without an attorney? Mine was considerably more than that. I had a pensionado card for 13 years, but decided to get the e-cedula when my husband died, because my pensionado was tied to his pension. I didn't want anyone telling me I had to apply for my own pensionado, so I separated myself from being a dependent on his pensionado by getting my e-cedula. It's nice having a card that says "Permanent Resident" instead of "Indefinite Tourist". I never had any issues with the pensionado card. However, because the number does not agree with your passport when you renew your passport, you need to take your old and new passports to migracion in Chiriqui Mall and get your new passport stamped "Registrado". Migracion looks for that stamp when you leave and enter the country.
  6. I went to this place and looked for any sign of the recycling center, but found nothing. Down the road to the left is a vacant lot with a gate across it. Could this be it? No sign or activity, and the gate was locked. Has anybody actually found the new location?
  7. That is not a one-way street Marie. It is two-way, always has been.
  8. I used the prednisone preventatively. As long as I kept him on it, he wouldn't have attacks. If you decide to take the cat off of it later, it has to be withdrawn gradually, not all at once. It's worth a try, poor kitty.
  9. Can someone give more specific directions? A David map doesn't help much, especially with only one street identified. Landmarks, etc?
  10. My cat almost died a couple of times from asthma and bronchitis when we lived in Seattle. It was a great relief when that went away when we moved to Boquete. I'm sorry Boquete didn't have the same effect on your cat. Another option, daily doses, or every other day doses, of prednisone (or prednisilone) to keep the asthma at bay. It isn't as hard on cats as it is on people. Experiment with the lowest dose that is effective. That is available here, and it's cheap. That worked for my cat.
  11. Why don't you try another asthma medication? Many brands are not available here, and you have to substitute. My cat was asthmatic, and I got Ventolin and Beclate here, which worked. Fortunately, he only had a couple of attacks after we moved to Boquete. The climate here (and lack of dust mites - no carpeting) must agree with him. He hasn't had an attack in 12 years.
  12. When I get money from my U.S. bank at the Global Bank ATM, I am charged $5.25 for the transaction. Perhaps BN just hasn't updated their information.
  13. Did you check the computer place next to Mail Boxes? Also Mandarin has some Canon ink.
  14. I notice the same at Los Establos. I think the employees take up most of the parking spaces. They don't seem to realize this discourages potential shoppers.
  15. I remember her. Didn't she get a nice grooming and haircut the last time you had her? I'll see if I still have those photos, before and after.
  16. Hey Dav, I've been wondering where you are. Good to hear from you.
