  1. Shouldn't you change the title of your blog?  I don't think you are fostering Anouk by now.  She's a permanent resident.

It doesn't look like the cats will be able to get in.  You have made them dependent on you.  It's not right to just cut them off from their food.  You could put a cat door in the mesh.  Toads would not be smart enough to figure out how to use it.

Judy, this has been a problem with many versions of Windows, not just Windows 7.   It is not related to the release of Windows 10, however Microsoft continues to change their policies and update process.   Fixing this issue often requires several steps to clean out and reset the update process.   From a security standpoint, it is important that the updates get applied and the operating system is up-to-date at all times.

I tried it again today, and it worked.  Perhaps MS corrected the problem.

It's probably been about a year now since I pushed the 'Upgrade to Windows 10' button.

Despite dire warnings from those with a fear of the unknown, I've had no issues whatsoever.

It's not fear of the unknown.  It's "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."  We have enough stress in our lives without having to cope with a new OS for no reason.

The last time Microsoft "fixed" the updating problem on my old XP computer, they nearly destroyed the computer.  It took a tech visit to get it going again, and it never worked right after that.  I will not ask for their help again.  I'll wait for them to fix their problems.

Originally we agreed to foster thru the end of August. I think she has captured our hearts so we would like to adopt her permanently.

She has calmed down considerably since arriving Friday. Anouk is getting along well with the neighborhood cat gang. Each is staking out their territory. It is fun to watch.

Anouk will decide if she wants to stay with us. We hope she decides in our favor. Please flag her in your report as "not available to anyone else".

She seemed to really enjoy the hugs and belly rub I gave her this morning after her Sunday Brunch.

I will mark her as adopted.  If that changes, let me know.

  6. There is an icon in your task bar that looks like a computer tower with a green circle with a check-box.  Click on it, and whatever is connected will appear.  It will say "Eject...".  This is the same thing you use to eject a flash drive before removing it.  If the icon is not showing, click the small up-pointing triangle in the task bar (mine is on the right side).  This allows you to choose which icons you want to be visible.  But you will still need to unplug the hard drive.

What is the chinese steak house near Penny?

It is a large yellow building with a sign "Mariscos".  If you stand in the parking lot of Super Baru and look past the stadium, you might be able to see it from there.  It is a couple of streets over.
