  1. I quit Netflix long ago. There are many, many excellent free movies on youtube. I download them using Internet Download Manager. Many are in HD, but even if not, the quality is acceptable. I don't have TV, I just watch movies.
  2. Personally, I won't touch anything soy with a 10-foot pole. " More than 90 percent of all soybeans grown in the United States are genetically modified (GM) for herbicide resistance and are consequently sprayed with massive quantities of those toxic chemicals. Fully 85 percent of all corn grown in the country is also genetically engineered, either for herbicide resistance or to produce pesticides within its tissues. Since farmers sell their corn and soy to large distributors who mix the product together for processing, this essentially means that 100 percent of non-organic corn and soy products on the US market are GM." And of course Price Smart and many other markets in Panama import from the US.
  3. Judy, I don't get enough protein without using whey. See http://www.amazon.com/NAKED-WHEY-Undenatured-California-Preservative/dp/B00NBDMN8U/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1452298513&sr=1-1&keywords=naked+whey Besides protein, look at all the amino acids in it. I won't use any whey that isn't from grass-fed cows with no additives and that is non-GMO. I put two scoops in my smoothie every morning.
  4. Yes, I know Cindy, but I see someone else has given her email. Her phone is 6732-9214 in Volcan.
  5. The best is Naked Whey from Amazon. 5 lbs. Not cheap, but great. Shipping is not cheap either.
  6. OK, I have sweet potatoes. "... a copper skin with an orange flesh that is sweet and soft.
  7. I discovered another delicious way to eat sweet potatoes. Partially thaw a cooked frozen sweet potato. Cut into rounds. In coconut oil or olive oil, brown the rounds on both sides along with chopped onions. Lightly salt and enjoy! Who wudda thought onions and sweet potatoes would complement each other, but wow!
  8. I don't know what you mean by the "Panamanian" variety. I'm sure Betty's are delicious, and my sweet potatoes are the "real deal," too. I don't sell them, but I'll be happy to give "starts" to anyone who happens to be in Volcan. Just let me know. In the attached picture, I harvested this one while it was still fairly small. When I have too many to use right away, I bake them in foil and then freeze them.
  9. Beats me, Judy. They can be harvested fairly small or wait until they're big. Mine or orange inside. Next time you come to the clinic in Volcan, remind me and I'll give you a vine.
  10. I eat a lot of sweet potatoes. They are very easy to grow. Just plant a vine with a root. I'll be happy to give "starts" to anyone who wants them.
  11. If true, better to put them down lovingly and painlessly than poison them.
  12. None in Volcan, but Boquete has Organica. Not sure what all they have. I order almost everything from Amazon.
  13. I recently posted here about having problems with CATPCHA appearing on most web pages I tried to open. Twin Wolf (a member here) responded to me privately and offered to help. He can access a computer remotely. That was absolutely fascinating! I watched on my computer everything he did, and we could send messages back and forth, too. I had already solved the CAPTCHA problem but had others. Dan checked out everything and installed a great virus protection program on my computer--all remotely. His fee was very reasonable. For computer problems, I recommend Twin Wolf Technology. I will contact him with any problems I have in the future.
  14. Thank you, Twin Wolf. I don't have a problem admitting it when I realize I've been wrong. I like this place, too.
  15. Just today when going to most sites, up pops a requirement to enter a CAPTCHA. This happens with both Chrome and Firefox. I cleared my cache and cookies. No help. Message says to scan my computer for malware, etc. I don't have any. A search revealed complaints about this for Chrome going back to 2011. The problem was supposed to be fixed. It isn't, but this is the first time it happened to me. Does anyone have the solution? Thanks.
  16. Now that I know the "story" behind this, the picture doesn't bother me. An email from someone who should know: "The photo was a ripoff from Lee's blog (with zero credit as to the source by ning). It was a birthday party for Mimi someone, acquaintances of Lee and Jennifer (before she left). http://www.boqueteguide.com/?p=12268
  17. No matter who it is, the picture just strikes me the wrong way. Just my opinion.
  18. On the Home page, one of the revolving pictures is of a young Panamanian boy in a white coat bowing down to serve appetizers to a blond expat woman. Personally, I do not like a picture that seems to present a Panamanian as subservient.
  19. Hi, Judi-- I live in Volcan. I'm not a member of ning but I read it to see what ridiculous stuff by Olga will appear next. When you cleverly put Olga in her place, she either pretends she doesn't understand--then again, maybe she REALLY doesn't.
