  1. ..."a shadow of it's former self" means "a shadow of it is former self..." (Sorry, I just can't help myself!) Nevertheless, welcome to CL, David.)
  2. I love Eset NOD32 Antivirus. I'd gladly pay $25-$30 a year for it--but free for Dan's clients? Even better! And as it is, I'm money ahead. The little that Dan charged me more than paid for the anti-virus program. Avast (free) is always trying to get people to buy extras. About a year ago, they offered a "special" which supposedly included a lot more "protection." I think the price at the time was $49. I thought, what the heck. Well, the upgrade immediately caused so many problems that I cancelled right away, uninstalled it, and went back to the free version. Do yourself a favor and get EsetNOD32. As they say, there's no free lunch (such as in Avast). Until now, though, I didn't know about a reasonably priced excellent anti-virus program. In the past I paid for anti-virus programs (Symantec, etc.) and they all caused problems. So until Dan installed Eset NOD32 for me, I'd just opted for the "free" versions.
  3. Another accolade for Dan (Twin Wolf). I love that man! I'll mention also that he installs (remotely) an excellent anti-virus program free of charge to his clients. (Bye, bye Avast!) Re anti-virus programs, I've had problems with most of them, including expensive ones. Way back, Symantec caused major computer problems. The one Twin Wolf installs is wonderful. When I have another computer built, I will ask Dan do do it. (Provided you're in Chiriqui, Dan?)
  4. Well, for me it didn't work. I don't know about the dog kennels outside because it was very windy last night, but I heard a mosquito buzzing in my bedroom near where I had sprayed the solution. This morning I saw a mosquito on the wall near an area I had sprayed. Maybe the problem is the lack of mint smell from the cheap (well, not so inexpensive) mouth wash from Todo a Dollar. I'm going to add some citronella and spearmint essential oils to a small portion and try again. Stay tuned...
  5. You can buy a large bag at Quimicas Ibis in David, 40 lbs., I think. It is not "food grade" so after dissolving it, you have to strain the mixture through a fine cloth. I strained it before putting in the beer. But it's nice to have a big bag for plants, soaking feet, etc. and the food grade is a lot more expensive. The mouth wash I got at the Dollar Store really doesn't have much mint scent. I used $10 worth at $2.00 per bottle. I sprayed it in my house and I found it leaves kind of a sticky residue on the floor that doesn't dry for a long time. I sprayed it on bed skirts and it is not visible there.
  6. Geeze--never mind! I just saw it on Amazon for $10 plus free shipping! Thanks, Dan, but I've already ordered from Amazon. Saves a lot of running around!
  7. If anyone is going to Canada in the near future, I'd appreciate your bringing back a small auto part for me--one inner boot kit for a 2004 Nissan X-trail. Part number 39741-8H525. Cost is $54.11. I will pay you in advance, with extras for any sales tax, etc. X-trails are sold in Panama but not in the US. Nissan dealers here are a ripoff and they say this part is not even AVAILABLE in Panama. Checking in Canada, they have the part but ordering it online to be sent from Canada to Miami would cost upwards of $111. (Then additional cost from Miami to Ebox.) Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! (No particular rush.) Dottie
  8. I hope this works...it's a heck of a lot of trouble to make. It takes FOREVER to dissolve the Epsom salts. I made it today and sprayed my outside dog crates. It will be revealing to see if I notice any mosquitoes on the porch tonight. Say tuned...
  9. Penny...this year, any year, I can distinguish what the parties say/promise, but when it all shakes out, there is no difference between the parties. The people who believe there's a difference is what keeps the government in control.
  10. It doesn't matter a whit which "party." They're all the same. The only differences are the "promises" that will never be kept.
  11. Ah, but you need to be entertained by the circuses to keep your mind off the real problems.
  12. Personally, I don't believe the vote of anyone counts. All the pre-election campaigning is merely whoo-ha-raw. The "winner" has been long decided before the "voting ritual" ever takes place. Give them bread and circuses.
  13. Presumably people who own guns know how to use them safely. (Or they should.) But what good is "gun training" for someone who is unable to obtain a firearm legally? (I've read elsewhere a gun will be provided for the course to someone who doesn't own one.)
  14. Please stick around for awhile before making an exit. You made an excellent rebuttal/expose to Bob's diatribe. There are very few members like Bob who post nonsense here. Personally, I'm glad you took the time to call him on his "apologia."
  15. To avoid giving too much personal information, I won't answer the question that is irrelevant and has nothing to do with my situation.
  16. My funds arrived here to Panama quickly. Now it's a BIG problem getting the funds to leave via wire instructions.
  17. The transfers had nothing to do with the US. The transfers to my Credicorp account were from the UK (and the funds were received promptly). Then I want to wire the funds to another source, also in the UK. The problem seems to be that Credicorp wants to hang on to my money as long as possible. Monday I will file a complaint with the Supt. of Banking.
  18. I will definitely post the outcome of this. Apparently Credicorp thinks MY money is now THEIRS.
  19. I have an account at Credicorp Bank. I had permission from them to receive a wire from an account I have (not in the US). They understood that I would then wire the money to another account (also not in the US). I gave them proof of where the funds originated, and documentation about where it was to go and what for. Well, on Monday morning, January 11th, I filled out the paperwork to send the wire. Now, five days later, it STILL hasn't been sent. Several contacts to the bank have gotten me nowhere. I know they are holding my money because they get interest on it, but five days is beyond ridiculous. I'm sure the Superintendent of Banks has rules about this. Can someone tell me the best way to file a complaint, and if I need a lawyer to do so. Thanks.
