Police at Caldera Road Intersection
Keith Woolford replied to Penny's topic in Water Cooler Topics, Rumor Central, Bochinche
The Police believe most criminals come to this area via Taxi, and that's who I see getting checked out most often. -
This full length feature film which chronicles the career of one of Panama's greatest heroes, boxing legend Roberto Duran, will open in theatres on August 26th, 2016. It was shot in Panama and New York and features Edgar Ramirez as Roberto Duran, Robert DeNiro as Ray Arcel, Reuben Blades as Carlos Eleta, Usher as Sugar Ray Leonard, Ellen Barkin as Stephanie Arcel, Ana de Armas, and John Turturro. The legendary Roberto Duran and his equally legendary trainer Ray Arcel change each other's lives.

El Salto Reported Shooting
Keith Woolford replied to Pantah's topic in Idle Chatter / Personal Musings
A relative of the victim confirmed that this incident in fact, did take place. His brother-in-law was shot by masked assailants when he couldn't come up with more than $300. The Police were called but did not appear. The location is correct as stated by Pantah. There is a small community around the intersection of upper Volcancito Road and the old road to Palmira Arriba. -
thanks Roger. Panama can't move forward if it can't move people and goods. Transportation infrastructure is one of the principal keys to growth and Panama continues to improve in that area, and quickly. In the capital the addition of mass public transit in the form of Metro Line 1, which seemed like a bit of a folly when it was announced, is very impressive. Lines 2 and 3 should further help the movement of people and the announced 4th bridge over the Canal will improve vehicular movement. After years of navigating a tangled web of bad trails in Costa Rica and metropolitan San José in particular, it is refreshing to live somewhere where both pubic and private transportation is recognized as a priority.

Just want to make it abundantly clear that I personally admire and respect anyone who is trying to help an animal in need, be it through an organization or on an individual basis. What's wrong is when others, particularly professionals, take advantage of those kind-hearted individuals, and their trust, for monetary gain.

Glad to hear that the dog is OK. I honestly think a good ethical doctor would have removed the limb at the outset instead of milking the case. Three and a half hours seems like a long time for an amputation but what do I know?
