  1. Yes...we've been there several times with gardener whackers and he's always fixed them . Turn at the Y into Dolega and make an immediate right and go down about 2-3 blocks. On the right is a feed store. It's on a corner. Repair guy has a shop in the left part of the store.
  2. Get one that can be repaired ! We bought one at DoIt years ago as a gift for our gardener. When it broke not one of the repair places could fix it. I forget the brand but I remember it wasn't cheap....like $300 or so. He is now on his second Stihl . The first one we bought him was a consumer style that broke. We finally found a guy in Dolega at the feed store that is great at fixing those...and he has it up and running.
  3. Never used.....love to find a home. They are too small for me. Navy blue. I paid $37 but I will take the best offer........I'm open to bargain Alison 6827-0064
  4. Located in Plaza SanFransisco, this restaurant provides quite a fantastic menu in a really neat ambiance. A fresh salad bar begins at 11 am and ends at 3 pm. You can order small medium or large salads with toppings of your selection. For now it's Mon-Fri. We ate the large , everything on it salad and I can say this was probably one of the best salads I have ever had in recent memory. Smoked trout...wow. That's another offering. Hamburgers as well seem to attract regulars. There is as well a juice/shake bar with a huge variety of choices to include some fine protein powder. This is the place we have been praying would find it's way to Boquete and now it's here. We walked out and on an after thought went back in to buy some vegetables. They had some of the freshest red peppers and zucchini...we bought a bag. Before we left we bought a gift certificate for a friend who enjoys this kind of food. We'll be back again and again.
  5. Where is this water park? What a great day for all the kids. Bill and I would love to be a part of this activity and will for sure contact Fundacion Pro-Integration to donate some money and our time for future events. Alison and Bill Brundage
  6. My husband and I are so sorry to hear this. We send our sympathies to the family. We sat eating our meal and watched him handily back his truck into a ridiculous small space then move furniture. He was a most capable human in many regards. Very sad. Bill and Alison
  7. "The installation assures a control of the management of the investigation, prosecution and execution of penalties, which in turn is replacing the written form. " This is a good thing!
  8. We all await answers to the big questions: 1) pipe size in a growing community 2) Sewage processing in a valley that floods. How and where exactly will this sewage plant be constructed. 3) Plant? Will there be a plant ? What exactly are these tubs of water reserve spoken of? Settling tanks? I remain a bit puzzled still. Hopefully more will come from engineers in order that we fully understand.
  9. I grew up in Cleveland Ohio where on the shores of Lake Erie just outside of town was a huge sanitary landfill. Eventually that entire area became Cleveland's Lakeside Airport. (That's a LOT of garbage !) Imagine a smouldering mass of stink just outside of town !
  10. The consequences of problems in sewer lines are so much greater than a water line..... If there are knowledgeable eyes that see obvious problems in advance then now might be the time to speak up. The "I told you so" down the line when the sh*t hits the fan has less value. I have no knowledge of the engineering of a proper sewer line. I just hope that those that do, speak up (in a non-confrontational way) and help for the benefit of all.
  11. Chiriqui Noticias reports he was robbed of $15,000.00 and apparently hand cuffed . Other reports say he was beaten. Another report I received from the community said the attackers fled on foot and were wearing hoodies. Hopefully we will get the full police update on this.
  12. Well Hil...the discount ( should it have been offered at the Mandarin) could not have been much... a dollar or two?...f that. Sometimes we just roll with it and blow off the demands for discounts on small stuff. Helps to keep the peace ya know?
  13. I remain confused. For what purpose would you need to have the Pensionado card accepted in this store? Please be specific Hil so we can understand your plight. Possibly something that might come under "pharmaceuticals"....?...just guessing.
  14. We are south of Plaza SF in Brisas. Our 600 gal tank is full this morning. We have had no recent problems that we know of
  15. Our rescue dog was (and is sometimes a hole digger). For the most part she no longer digs up the yard. That said I found her in a 2 1/2 foot deep hole she dug across the street in the vacant yard just last week. She hunts lizards.....which might lead her to a snake she did not anticipate. This is probably our biggest issue. When we first got her, she did not play. Toss a bal?....nothing. Tug of war?...nada A good friend taught us how to teach her to play by getting her all excited then introducing the toy....wow, she plays! Now we have walks twice a day and play time. She's getting us in shape I'll have to say....which is a good thing I guess.
  16. There was a program on Ceasar Milan the dog whisperer where the dog was chewing everything. His take was the dog needed more activity. He got the folks walking the dog twice a day for about 45 min. The dog seems to settle right down. Then he took the dog to the front yard and surrounded her with all the things she loved to chew....viola, no chewing. He fully anticipated that he might have to correct her attention off the objects she chews. This was a young dog....and he said the younger dogs and certain breeds are more apt to be chewers.
  17. Las Lajas beach This sweet young man went to the rescue of another teen, his friend. Although he was a tall sturdy teen, he did not know how to swim. The girl who was initially in trouble, was rescued, coughing up water. It seems by report it was a rip current that swept her off her feet. The young man who went to her rescue was there.....then suddenly he was not. Attention was directed towards the first young girl, and when they turned around he was not there. This is a very very sad story. This is not a treacherous beach on a fairly calm day , as it was on this day ( ...as opposed to Las Olas that can be very deceptive with regard to drops and currents). That said, this is a very sad situation and many grieve the loss of this young man who was quick to rescue a friend in need. Bill and I heard the recount of the story today from friends who knew this boy......sad, very sad. Our hearts break. Please be careful on these beaches here.
