  1. Really Pat! This is the second time you have taken issue with one of my comments. What are you, the arbitrator of what is proper? Gordon wasn't offended. The person who posted Cloudless' comment wasn't offended. As Gordon said, "Unfair? Why?" Unfair to whom?
  2. Miss Maggie should be in Pets category, not Clubs and Groups. She might get more viewings there.
  3. How come one can say **** on ning but not on CL? Are we getting prissy?
  4. I didn't realize you could turn them both off. I thought you had to choose one. I think I fixed it.
  5. Is that who wrote it? I couldn't remember. I used to go to the church of Religious Science in San Diego where she preached (if you can call it preaching - not a traditional church)..
  6. Would it be too much to ask that they fix them right this time? Those pot holes have been patched so many times, there are more patches than pavement. That hole in front of Fresas Mary is ridiculous. The water line that keeps breaking never gets fixed right. The water leaks eat the road, so the pot holes happen over and over in the same place. Somebody really wants job security. And you're right, the pot holes are dangerous, because they are so deep, people go around them into oncoming traffic.
  7. I just checked the Notification settings, and I see only two options, to be notified of the reputation by pop-up or by email. I see no option to avoid seeing it altogether. The reputation pop-up is an annoying feature, but since now I know what it is, I will just ignore it. There was a book called "What You Think of Me is None of My Business." That's what I think of the reputation thing.
  8. You can get rid of that annoying update icon and the fear that you will be automatically "upgraded". Do the following: 1. Click on the Start button and type Programs and Features. A screen will pop up showing that as the first item. Click on it. 2. Click View Installed Updates. Find the following file: 3035583 3. Right click that and select Uninstall 4. Select Restart Later 5. Restart To keep it from downloading again in the future: Turn off automatic installation of updates. Choose the other option that allows you to choose to install. Before installing the monthly updates, look at them to be sure they didn't add in 3035583 again. If they did, hide it per the following, and it probably won't bother you again. 1. Search Windows Update in the start menu (or get to it from Control Panel) 2. Select Check for Updates. You should see the update listed above. 3. Right click it and choose Hide Update. If you want Win 10 later, just undo the last set of instructions.
  9. I'm curious why anyone would need to go to the Cable Onda office. I have always done all business with them by phone and email.
  10. Use for art projects or whatever. If you want it, it's yours. I hate to throw it in the landfill. 6517-3921
  11. I think continuing news of Marion Clamp, or at least a link to Chiriqui Chatter updates, plus requests for donations (if still needed) should be posted somewhere, but I can't figure out where it goes. I think Misc. is too broad. It seems to me the admins spend a lot of time moving posts around to the appropriate topics. I'm wondering if this is worth the time and trouble. Personally, I rarely look at the topics to find things. I go to New Content or Activity Stream. The topics are useful if I'm looking for something specific, so I wouldn't suggest ending them. I just hate to see you spending so much time moving things around. Maybe just move the obvious things, like putting For Sale items in the Buy/Sell topic.
  12. Are you referring to the Policlinica near Oriana and the handicap center? No, it's not completed. The one in Dolega appears to be open though. I see cars and people there, but I have never been inside. There is an emergency room. If anybody stops to check it out, would you let us know?
  13. A post on ning, Confessions of a Ning Member said: '" a circulating email of us old timers from Ning were asked to ban together and attempt to create trouble for Ning's new management via postings on CL and Ning to make Ning look bad to the community. The post this morning by Judy Sacco is confirmation of such a plan." That is absolute BS. I never got such an email from CL or was asked to be part of such a plan. I resent being characterized this way. I am not part of a plan to destroy ning.
  14. The headline about Marion is gone from ning. I searched the site and found nothing about her.
  15. PIT BULL PUPPY This little female was sterilized in our October clinic. She is 2 months old and ready for adoption. She is the only survivor of her litter as the mom was totally malnourished. Her mom is a small pit bull, this little girl already plays with toys, is in a foster home with two large dogs and two small children. Very friendly and playful! She is ready for her forever home. Call or email Ruby Mckenzie 6671-3021. valjala2@gmail.com
  16. Anyone who did not go to one of Nikki Steel's presentations about dying in Panama should go to the Boquete Hospice web page and print out the forms and documents under the topic Being Prepared. There is valuable information there for those who have realized they are not immortal. http://boquetehospice.org/
  17. I used to have a laptop connected to the TV. I would get USTVnow that way, no Roku or anything else. Now I get it (the free version) on Kodi through my IPTV box. If you get USTVnow on Roku, you have to pay $29/month for it. There is no free version on Roku,.
  18. Bonnie, the box doesn't have anything to do with the computer. It gets a wireless signal from the router, or is connected to the router by ethernet cable. Maybe I'm not understanding what you're saying.
  19. You never know what you'll really be saying. Google Translate's Epic Error
  20. Curious - what does Danny Higgins know about Chinese food? Wouldn't you wonder if you saw someone named Bjorn Johannson was opening an Indian restaurant?
  21. SMOKEY BEAR Hi, my name is Smokey Bear. Smokey for short. I am looking for a permanent home now. I am about 5 years old, healthy, neutered and up to date on my shots. I am a Himalayan-mix. I may be shy at first, but if I know I am in a loving home, I am very social and I love to sit on your lap, curl up at your feet and sleep in the sunlight. People tell me I am good natured and am a mellow, happy cat. I am primarily an indoor cat and I use the litter box. I sometimes go outside, not very far, and only if I know the outside is safe. I was raised with my brother and I get along with dogs however older cats may not like my friendly nature, but younger cats may want to play with me. I am looking for a forever home. Contact Judy Sacco, 6517-3921 or jwsacco@yahoo.com
  22. She's still posted for adoption on Pets Want Homes. Have you decided to keep her?
