  7. The cat feeding, trapping and release program was originally set up by Joan James who was a long time resident of Boquete. Upon her departure, Kirsten and Ray Quimby agreed to take over this valuable and necessary program for the community. Essentially the goal is to identify feral cats, provide them with food, trap them and have them sterilized and released back into the wild to prevent further breeding. Currently there are eight feeding stations in the Boquete area which feed more than 100 cats per month. In the past six months (as of November 2016) 36 cats have been trapped
  8. Meet Celestino. Celestino was in a motorcycle accident about 12 years ago, and now is partially paralyzed. He lives alone and does a bit of woodworking for a small income. Celestino has two cats and one dog that he just adores and that mean the world to him but he struggles with providing food for them, and it is always a constant worry to him that his animals will go hungry. He also has another cat that is hanging around looking for food, but he has been “shooing” the cat away as he didn’t have enough food to feed his own pets. ARF was made aware
  9. Here are a few of our friends hoping to find a loving home for the new year: Charlie is a male Cocker, around 3 years old and weighs 35 lbs. He likes to chase cats, but does not harm them. He is friendly with other dogs, chickens and children. His favorite pass time is cuddling. Very sweet little guy. Winnie is ready for adoption! It has been since February that this girl has been given TLC to get back her health and her weight…..she looks like a real Boxer now! She was being starved by her owner, and it was touch and go for a while there. Winnie is a very smart girl. She is
  10. The two reformed ferals – Lee and Mia These two cuties were trapped back in July at the Boquete Country Club. Since they were so young when captured, our foster was determined to try to domesticate them, rather than just having them fixed, and turning out two more cats. Her efforts have been successful, and although still a bit timid, these two are more comfortable with people as each day passes. Mia is extremely loving and purrs like a locomotive. Lee is a bit more reserved, but loves attention as well. We would like to try to find a home that could take both of
  11. Hello everyone! For October, the amount of monthly donations was $2443.00 and expenses totaled $2032.00. Thank you to everyone who contributed! We received another large contribution this month and we cannot thank the donators enough! Thank you to the anonymous donor for the $1500.00. This will go a long way in helping us catch up on some of our bills. 3 dogs found their forever home this month, but no cats were adopted. 16. Hi all. Again, we are appealing to the Boquete community for help in finding some temporary homes for some of our rescues. Buddy, the pup pictured below currently has a case of Kennel Cough, which is very contagious to other dogs, so he needs to be placed in a home with no other dogs. 18. Virginia just gave birth to 3 kittens on May 25. She is currently living in the bushes in Alto Boquete. We need to find a safe and warm place for her to tend to her kittens. She is approachable and friendly but very protective of her kittens so a home with no other animals would be best. If you can help Virginia please contact ARF on arf.boquete@gmail.com

  20. Smokey was adopted a few months ago and was very happy in his new home where he got a new friend, Gracie. Health issues have forced Smokey and Gracie's mom to go back to the U.S. She is staying with someone who is allergic to cats, so can't take them with her. Here is Smokey. A photo and description of Gracie will follow. It would be great if someone could take both of them, since they are good friends. Hi, my name is Smokey Bear. Smokey for short. I am looking for a permanent home now. I am about 5 years old, healthy, neutered and up to date on my shots. I am a Himalayan-mix
  21. Lady Carapacia TortiGal "Miss TIggy" was a foundling who was rescued. The best description of Tiggy is that she is a love. She is just baby size with silky soft fur which she keeps scrupulously clean. She is very like a Siamese, being quite talkative, very protective, and somewhat possessive of her people and territory. (They apparently call this "Tortitude"). She comes when called, obeys commands (most of the time), uses a scratching post, uses the litterbox or outdoors and (I think) could easily be trained to use the toilet as she has a great interest in that device... She loves feet a
  22. SMOKEY BEAR Hi, my name is Smokey Bear. Smokey for short. I am looking for a permanent home now. I am about 5 years old, healthy, neutered and up to date on my shots. I am a Himalayan-mix. I may be shy at first, but if I know I am in a loving home, I am very social and I love to sit on your lap, curl up at your feet and sleep in the sunlight. People tell me I am good natured and am a mellow, happy cat. I am primarily an indoor cat and I use the litter box. I sometimes go outside, not very far, and only if I know the outside is safe. I was raised with my brother and I get along with dog
