I have a Fridgidaire. It also does the thump. It is not a defect. It is something opening and closing, or turning on and off.

It is really bad business when Audiofoto would not take back a clearly defective product that was only a month old. I swear all the manufacturers have bins at the end of their production lines marked "Accept", "Reject", and "Reject and Send to Latin America." They send all the crap here that would not be acceptable to sell in the U.S. or Europe. It has gotton so I am afraid to buy anything electronic here. I got a DeLonghi espresso machine from eBay almost 10 years ago. It started leaking (but still works), so I bought another one here. It worked 6 months. Panafoto sent it for repair, unsuccessfully. So they gave me a new one. That one quit in 4 months. I'm afraid to buy another one. I commend Panafoto for honoring the warranty though and trying to make good on it.

I am trying to reply to Susan & Pat on this topic. At first I hit quote, but the post would have been way too long with the quote, so I started over and just tried to put the reply in the box minus the quote. It just kept pasting the quote every time I clicked on reply. I even checked out of CL and back in 2 more times to try again. Same thing. I can't enter a reply without the quote showing, and I can't get rid of it.

If Ted Cruz is elected, he will work hard to bring about the end times that his apocalyptic sect is hoping for. It's good all those people left the U.S. and came to Boquete. Maybe they won't be able to figure out how to vote from afar.

I have never heard of any satellite internet services here. There are two wireless services if you don't have Cable Onda or can't get Cable and Wireless ADSL. They are Internet Activo and Planet Telcom.

Let's take a vote. Should News Boquete postings continue to be part of CL? No: Get rid of them Yes: Leave them in CL I vote No.

They will not be the sole source for internet wireless. Internet Activo is still in business. I got good service from them until I switched to Cable Onda when they wired my neighborhood.

Actually I did create another FB account so I could view Boquete News, etc. I use it to view things, but don't post on it to avoid receiving the annoying clutter I had on my original account. So while I still don't do FB, I do look at it.

Ironically I am finding more useful information on ning lately than on CL. I just learned I could have gotten my passport photos at Mail Boxes Etc in Boquete without having to drive to Arrocha in David. It seems 90% of the posts on CL lately are just re-posts of News Boquete announcements. Doesn't everybody on here already subscribe to News Boquete? I hope people start posting more. There must be something going on out there. We don't want Chiriqui Life to become Chiriqui Moribund.

Mail Boxes Etc. in Boquete can do U.S. passport photos with the correct specifications.

People who register with the embassy get the notices directly via email. They do not have to depend on the warden sending them, or wait for them to appear on News Boquete. The reason there are not more frequent embassy outreach trips to Boquete is because the embassy thinks hardly any U.S. citizens live here, because a great number haven't registered (tax evaders? conspiracy theorists? criminals on the lam? Who knows?)

Entitlement mentality? Wanting to use the Medicare insurance I pay into every month is "entitlement mentality"? The U.S. govt. pays for medical care all over the world to people with TriCare. Why should Medicare be any different? I resent being called a recipient of an entitlement, like I'm collecting welfare, when I paid into that system my whole adult life with the expectation of it being available to me when I retired.

To each his or her own. I lived in Seattle 20 years. Loved the weather, even the rain. I grew up in Ohio where the winters were cold and everything was grey or brown, no green. The green in winter in Seattle and the mild winter weather was great to me. I can bear David for a couple of hours, then I've got to get out of that heat. If it gets over 75, I start to suffer.

I'm looking for a particular member. I want to contact him about computer help. I can't find a "Members" tab or any way to see the members of CL.

So ning is to be a shopping service? Another thing I don't need. I can do my own shopping.

What is the name of this insurance so I can look it up? I don't want to call an agent until I get some more information. I might be too old for it.
