  1. The form for change of address is on this page of the Embassy's website. I didn't have to make the trip to the Embassy to change the address. I think you can email it PDF to the embassy and they will take care of it for you or DHL. Just call them to make sure. https://panama.usembassy.gov/ssae.html

    Volcan Flower Festival

Sunday. It was a mad house at 12:00. Just as many people leaving as arriving before the parade at 1:00pm. I talked with a lot more people in Boquete today and they had the same experience. A friend of mine owns a small pizza place in Volcan and I talked with him today. He said they didn't sell one pizza this year because of the way the traffic was routed and limited parking was handled. I suspect the planning committee heard about it today. They can learn from this for next year.

    Volcan Flower Festival

Last year was great. They may have promoted this year beyond imagination. I'm thinking there was approx two thousand cars going in circles around town. Today was a nightmare. It appeared just as many were leaving as were arriving because of no parking. They did not plan on this many visitors/cars I'm sure of it. So, no parking and a lot of people left. I never got out of my car. Maybe they'll figure out more parking next year. A few photos from last year; The table without the horse on it priced; $16,500

    Isla Boca Brava

Thank for your understanding and managing this site!!!
  9. Marcelyn, I will post details of progress as they unfold. PICS only. I will not post the URL again. I was NOT advertising. I'm a friend of the developer. Not an agent. If someone on this site feels the need to help the developer with new ideas or get into sales--he is always open to suggestions. All the information anyone needs is on the huge BillBoard on the way to David before you reach Dolega on the right hand side of the highway before the Terpel.

    Isla Boca Brava

Repost requested!! My original post was NOT meant for advertising or critical advice. Bud's wife ask about it out of curiosty. Another person did a critical overview of the project. That was NOT Necessary on my Blog. My blog is for information on things to do in Chiriqui. So, to stop any speculation on what this project is going to be I took the blog down. We had great visit to the island and that is ALL the Blog was about. We watched a ferry take cars across from Boca Chica landing across to Isla Boca Brava and it took about five minutes. The road down the middle of the island all the way to the west end will be improved soon. If you've never traveled all the way on the island from east to west I recommend it. Take plenty of water and some food. The new four lane from David to Boca Chica has really reduced the time for the trip---about 45 minutes. I drive from Boquete to El Reys in David in about 25 minutes. And, the rough highway from the Interamericana to Boca Chica is suppose to be repaired this year (rumor fingers crossed) and that might take a few minutes off of the trip. So, this is a nice day trip with little drive time involved. If you are retired and in a hurry in Panama you have created yourself problems. This culture is slow like NO OTHER!!!!! It took me about a year to learn how to BE RETIRED. Now, it's fun. Fun is what it's all about in retirement.
  11. Cheap in all the pharmacies in david. you just have to look for them on the shelf. don't ask for cardio. just grab the 81mg.

    Zika

The U.S. always steps up to the plate. This article gives quick hope for prevention. And, hopefully a vaccine. http://www.newsherald.com/news/20160812/almost-900-innovators-submit-ideas-to-combat-zika
  13. It's been a year now since my policy went bad with them. I haven't gotten my refund yet and I was promised one. I bought it through a local broker and they give me the same run around every time I email them. The broker has NOT made an effort to contact the government angency that took over this company and get refunds for the customers. Another typical----you lost it here so what!!!

    Healthy Dogs In Bouqete

There are a couple of groups in Boquete that do good work with dogs and cats. I couldn't resist this one enjoying his sidewalk downtown. He looks healthy. A lot of dogs are not well taken care in the area. The spay and nueter clinics seem to work well in Boquete.
  16. I'm thinking I got 5% on check day for groceries at Romeros. Could be wrong I didn't save my reciept. I do remember telling my woman that I saved 20 cents!!!!! lolololol
  17. Penny the items are on the list. I'm not in an uproar over any of this. I was just sharing he would NOT honor the carnet specifically.
  18. Exactly my point. I was just sharing.
  19. I did blow it off. Although I did mention the regulatory entity. I understand a lot of places don't play by the rules. The money didn't matter. cheers
  20. The items were personal ( I have a copy of the list in my wallet and use it regularly) and I will not share the items in this forum. As I said all along the Manager said the item was correct but he would NOT honor my carnet because the word "jubilado" was NOT on the card. I do not understand it so I can NOT explain it. Here is some good that came out of this. I walked right back up the hill to Reyna (were my car was parked )and got both items for half the price Mandarin was asking WITHOUT the discount. So, I didn't even ask for the discount. Amazing.
  21. The items I wanted to purchase are sold in the hardware department and as I said in the original post the item never was in question. They are not limited on what the sell in the back to "hardware" it is just a location. Maybe I should have been more precise. His exact words to me and he pointed to the card: "The word "Jubilado" is not on your pensionado carnet and I will not give you a discount." So, end of story. It never was about the item in the first place. Sorry for the misunderstanding. He was the manager.
  22. He would not honor the card period.
  23. This the second time this happened. In the back hardware department. No questions on item to be discounted. He would not honor the card period. I told him I would report it in David to Aedeco. He laughed at me.
