I agree. I was going to post similar words, but some accuse me of being too negative at times. Thanks for taking the heat off of me for this one.

Having a bit of fun here. Given the title of the news article and the content of Doug’s reply, maybe the title should be changed to reflect megaprojects and microprojects because I can’t seriously think of the Panamonte bridge being a either a project or miniproject, and certainly not a megaproject. Microproject is the best word I can think of. ?

Total waste of my time. Not possible to read anything. These guys are headed for failure and disappointment if they can’t get something this basic under control.

Appears to be a really bad accident. Hope the fire fighter comes through this okay. Apparently he is the deputy fire chief in Boquete. Or assistant fire chief, or whatever they call that position. This information raises several questions. I have been told repeatedly that accident victims are taken to Regional Hospital in David. Yet Rovira was taken to Chiriqui Hospital, which is a private hospital. Is there a logical explantation why? The caption on the news article photo suggests that the bomberos truck went into the opposing lane. That is kinda hard to do given the explanation of where the accident occurred. What details are available? Weather doesn’t seem to be a factor. Was this a mechanical failure? Driver mistake? Excess speed involved? Just curious here. Nice that this ACCB group supported the family of the fire fighter. Who is ACCB? I have not heard of them.

Some people tell me that Starbucks already costs more than $10 per cup. So what has changed? -
Put them all in Trump Tower and weld the doors shut. That would solve two prolems.

Whatever their reason, it seems to have been poorly thought through and planned. Right at the last minute changing the name after about half a year of advertising as the BJBF. And then just changing the name at the last minute without any announcement or description or explanation. Hope it works well for them in the future, but I suspect they will regret it. BTW, I didn't pay the big bucks to listen because I could just sit in town across the river and hear everything going on. It was even too loud where I was. People should be more considerate of their ears.

I saw that sign also. And now people are posting using this new name. I feel so disconnected at times.

I'm confused also. Maybe because I'm a country boy. Did the Jazz Festival change its name?

For those like me who are not familiar with the impact of sun spot activity and our local weather, could someone please enlighten me? Part of me now questions whether the global warming thing is really about sun sport variations or cycles (or whatever they are called). I hope the moderators don't slam me for taking this in a new direction.

I continue to be amazed at how inept some people are. Why advertise something happening in December in the month after? Why are you wasting my time? Yes, the words in the text say the right date, but the title doesn't. I think the NewsLady should just reject crap like this. How can I believe anything that is written by this guy?

Hopefully you know this from having read a thriller novel, and not from first hand experience.

Sielmpre, I do not know what you are saying. Too obtuse for my brain. Leaving substantive replies to others more capable than me. The main reason for replying is that I do not see anyone attacking you. It appears that you interpret disagreement or alternative views as an attack. My opinion is that doing so benefits no one. I am very curious as to why you posted your latest in the manner that you did. It appears to be a scanned printout from a word processor rather than just typing your words directly into this forum. Am I missing something here? Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Dear PAJ, There is a lot of food for thought in your reply. Thank you. Several year’s ago I finally absorbed the FACT that there are many, many different kinds of cancers. My conclusion from that awakening included awareness that lumping all cancers into one bucket is doing everyone a disservice, maybe even damaging them. Is the American Cancer Society really working on a cure for all cancers? I hope so, but have my doubts. Read what Wikipedia says about the ACS: The ACS is organized geographically. Huh??? Shouldn’t it be organized based on biophysics or cytopathologies? Your last sentence was something that I never considered before. I need time to think about that statement. Wow! Not sure what the the real solution will be, but I do hope it comes soon.

All’s well that ends well. -
According to the dictionaries that I use, that is not a correct statement. “...expressing dissatisfaction, pain, uneasiness, censure, resentment, or grief; finding fault...” or “...expressing pain, dissatisfaction, or resentment...”, etc., etc. You were complaining. The first half of that sentence was correct IMO, but there is nothing that I’ve seen that says you can’t start another topic. On the second part of that sentence, I am disappointed to read that you think so little of my interest or capacity to engage conversationally in certain subjects. Maybe I should go back into my cave so as to spare the community of my shortcomings. Thank you for your decision. Sorry. Nope. That ain’t gonna happen. P.S., sorry about the delay in seeing your reply. The last several days have been busy for me.
