  1. You state it appeared to be Salmonella without actually knowing and then you slam and blame the restaurant without taking more action on your part to confirm this. Sad for you!
  2. The folks that post these "news" releases and do not understand marketing and have no writing skills are only bringing it on themselves. Totally agree with Keith.
  3. At the new one here in Boquete, yes, there are proper sewage hookups. Looks to be installed to US standards. I would imagine with all the money they spent on the place they have a proper septic tank as well.
  4. until

    It was a great evening!
  5. Stopped by Malu restaurant and spoke to the assistant manager about the RV park on the property: Panama Camping Park. http://www.panamacampingpark.com/2018/02/14.html They have 5 brand new RV's trailers of various sizes that they rent out for lodging only. There is no insurance set up in Panama for a business to rent RV's to actually take on the road. The owners are working on that. Full restrooms with showers are located next to the restaurant. This could be a nice and unique place for your out of town guest to stay at. Being former RV owners we were impressed with the facilities, full electric, water, and pump out spaces for visiting RV's at only $22 a night. Obviously, the owners have thought this out and realize the market potential. They are in it for the long haul. This is one of only two RV parks in Panama. The other outside the city is XS Memories. http://www.xsmemories.com/recreational-vehicles.html We wish them well!
  6. Went here yesterday afternoon for an appetizer and wine. We met Astrid Puedas who is the pastry chef and assistant manager. She told us her two uncles are partners in this new venture and have more plans, especially with the RV park. They are all from PC. She said the outside deck is dog-friendly! The service, menu, food, and prices are terrific. We did not ask for the Jubilo as our bill was only $18.00 for the smoked salmon plate and 3 glasses of wine. With the low cost of the menu and what a great job and effort, they are doing to make a go of it we would like to see them be successful. They open every day at 8:30 except on Mondays.
  7. Glad you posted this. Great selection and prices! The website seems to indicate rental of RV's! http://www.panamacampingpark.com/p/camping-on-rv.html
  8. Gyro closed up a few weeks ago. Not surprised. The original concept that Mark and Gary had was very successful. Heard it might be a money issue. Had their equipment up for sale on Facebook. That location would be great for an Italian Restuarant! Just kidding! Actually, a wine and tapas bar would be great! Good for Deborah!
  9. Ok now. So, there will be 4 of them to serve the community now? Plus the one private ambulance from Dr. Lilliana Boya has? 5 ambulances for Boquete? I remember reading there are only 2-3 police vehicles. Is that correct? Who is Rodney Direct gonna call? Are they all the same price?
  10. Ha Ha . Just not enough things to keep people occupied!
  11. BTW, as far as we could see there are 4 bridges going in. Footings and pile driving have started for 3 of them. There are some very steep and tight corners on some parts of the road. More gravel is laid closer to Potrerillos side then Palmira side.No bridge work for the Rio Quisisa crossing yet. But that section, a lot, and I mean a lot, of earth, has been moved and they have a lot more to go. That shows in the steep climb down picture. The question is where is all the earth being taken too?
  12. This section was very steep!Heading to the Rio Quisisa crossing. No bridge construction yet. Other side of Rio Quisisa. A beautiful road along the river.Last week we hiked from Brisas across the canyon up the other side and the trail ended at the new road extensions going in. We took a right turn and after 2hours and about 4 miles, we ended in Palmira Arriba. Today we hiked the opposite way to Potrerillos. Lot's of bridge work and workers about!
  13. I was there as well and recall the same comments " “I don’t know” “I”ll have to get back to you on that”. There were several folks asking him questions about problems they were having with getting their fingerprints for the FBI report. I thought his answer to them was a bit evasive. I was not too impressed with his overall engagement with the folks in attendance. Felt more like a PR event.
  14. It is easy to get your jubilado discount with Copa. Send a scanned copy of your Cedula/Visa card to docs@connectmiles.com, at least a few days before you want to book your flight. Make your reservation and check the 24 hr hold. Call Copa, ( or whatever airline you are using) with your reservation number and they will process your ticket by credit card, get your discount, seat assignments without any service fees. They will send you by email your receipt and confirmation tickets.
  15. Just read the Kindle version of Getting Familiar with David, Panama, a Guide by Nanette Witmir. She mentioned a few restaurants we had not heard of: Oh Toro Ramen & Sushi, apparently there are several in Panama, the website has great info.https://www.google.com/maps/place/Oh-Toro+Ramen+%26+Sushi/@8.4357525,-82.4251366,18z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x67af48ce13bd77e5!8m2!3d8.4359011!4d-82.4245465 Feta Restaurant Restaurant La Tipica Restaurant Stylo, inside the Hotel Ciudad de David They are all listed on Trip Advisor with pretty good reviews. Nice to have more options for David. Does anyone have any experiences with these restaurants?

  17. Ate there today. We thought it was ok. Nice atmosphere, fair prices, good size portions, and good service. The food just did not taste like Mexican food. Very bland and lacking true Mexican flavors. The salsas were all from a can. Burricicos in Volcan is still the better choice.
