We saw that wreckage and wondered “how did that happen?”

During the past week we have had three (3) individuals appearing at our home seeking work. Suspect these men were construction employees involved in the ongoing strike situation. Difficult circumstances for them, we imagine.

This may be a strategic mistake on the part of strikers to shut down the Balboa cranes because this hits at the economic heart of Panama.

What group is providing the live music for this wine tasting gala? Dancing possible?

Yes, we just found Kirkland dog food available at PriceSmart. Funny thing: As we waited for employee to “check us out of the store” I noticed that about every third basket of purchases contained dog food. ?

I think this means that Panama authorities have identified at least 500 cases where people have falsified data (Social Security, job and salary information, etc.) in order to obtain their temporary residence or residency in this country.

Has anyone heard of Dobore Cafe and Coffee House? In Boquete or where located?

Tickets for this wine tasting and tapas gala to support Salvadores de Animales were available today at BCP Tuesday Market. I got an answer from one of the sales ladies re the differences between VIP and General Admission tickets. This sounds like a fun time to benefit a good cause.

No workers or construction work happening yesterday at Federal Mall near David.

Shopping at PriceSmart yesterday (along with maybe 300 other people) and noticed only Kirkland dog food available was for small dogs; no dog biscuits, and no salmon capsules for pets. Saw Christmas decorations in the back aisles. Hope this doesn’t mean decorations instead of pet supplies will be possible. Please post if you find Kirkland food on the shelf and we will return to David.

Oh I hope the outcome from this meeting will be consistent utility service. Currently our electricity goes out more often than I do. ?

Not sure I understand the value of the certificate which exempts an individual from getting a yellow fever vaccination. How does this certificate protect someone who is exposed to yellow fever? Why wouldn’t someone take the extra effort to protect their health and obtain the vaccination? I appreciate the risk in not being vaccinated, but what is the risk to getting the yellow fever shot?

Seems to me this situation between Panama and Venezuela is more serious each day.

Maybe the problem is poor quality tape. I purchased a large roll of the only “stuff” available at a local store. Wouldn’t stick to my container no matter how much I used or how hard I pressed. Ugh! Free “tape” available........

During lunch with a friend last week, she mentioned she is taking a class here in Boquete. Enjoys it and believes she is learning and benefiting from the experience, but said she may not continue. My friend has a big smile for everyone. Her Spanish is good but usually speaks only English during class sessions. She told me several Panamanian females talk negatively about “gringos” and don’t like Americans or Canadians being in Panama. Yesterday a car with two Panamanian men left turned right toward our car. We stopped to avoid an accident. They started yelling at us. I offered a giant smile and waved a big hello. Their facial expressions changed to shocked stares and their mouths stopped moving. Today two Panamanian males gave Bud “the finger gesture”. The same morning another man yelled “gringo go home” as Bud drove down the street near Romero’s. What is happening? We don’t know any of these people, certainly didn’t do anything wrong, and don’t believe we deserve this kind of treatment. Have never noticed this rudeness from the locals until recently. Anyone else seen this escalation of dislike toward gringos? Comments requested.
