  1. It seems to have at least as much relevance as the road carnage reports in Panama City. Not sure why we should care about traffic accidents there. Sometimes that topic drifts into National Inquirer territory.
  2. I cook a lot of different things, but I've never used quail eggs. What do you do with them, make itty bitty omelets?
  3. I would bet that most of the people who worry about sharia law don't have a clue about what it is.
  4. I wonder if you had grabbed and squeezed his balls if he would have considered that a compliment.
  5. I will check that out again. PayPal was so adamant that they could not connect to a Panama bank, I gave up. Maybe things have changed. That would make money transfer so easy.
  6. You cannot move money received in a PayPal account to a bank in Panama. They aren't set up for that. You can use it to purchase things on a site that accepts PayPal, but you can't withdraw money. You have to link it to a US bank account to receive money, but then you're right back where you started regarding how to get the money to Panama. A few years ago I tried to set up a PayPal account for Amigos de Animales, and I was told by PayPal: "The option to add a bank account based in Panama is currently not available. For members who are using a Panama PayPal account, they are only able to add a U.S. bank account. Establishing our services in each country involves complex changes due to different government and banking regulations." I doubt this has changed, but you could go to PayPal and find out.
  7. I am not going to get into this BS on CL. This topic belongs in the Rant Group on boquete.ning, a group CL should consider starting so stuff like this doesn't start cluttering up the forum. It is totally irrelevant to life in Chiriqui, except as we are all on the same planet.
  8. Unbelievable! With your background, you are denying climate change is happening? That is what I got from what you wrote.
  9. Regarding taxing the worldwide income of American citizens who live abroad: I find the reporting requirements very easy using the online FBAR form and TurboTax. It is not burdensome to me. What would be burdensome is, if my Panama income were no longer taxed by the U.S., would it now be taxed by Panama? Having to file Panama income tax forms would be a complete unknown to me and a potential nightmare. I'm sure I couldn't do it with TurboTax. I have asked this question before and have never seen an answer. Does anybody know?
  10. Urban mobility. What a joke! Why don't they start with Boquete, which is becoming harder to get around in every day. And what's with those Greyhound size buses going around town on our narrow, congested, broken up roads? These aren't tourist buses. They are commuter buses between Boquete and David. Whose bright idea was that?
  11. Do you have references? Because of the Ozzie fiasco a few years ago, many of us are very wary of letting an unknown computer repair person into our homes.
  12. until

Tell me again who the loud band was, so I can avoid them when they play in the future. The volume was unbearable. I ate and ran.
  13. Yes, it's like getting rid of a dictionary because it didn't teach you English.
  14. That's really depressing, but a form of it goes on at the private hospitals too, even if (or maybe because) you have insurance. If a bill seems high, contest it.
  15. Just curious. I use that book all the time. Who can remember dozens of forms for a single verb? Why would you want to get rid of that book? It's invaluable.
  16. Potrerillos Amiba? Don't you mean Arriba? This is on your FB page. Perhaps one can get amoebas in Potrerillos, but I wouldn't advertise it.
  17. Yes it does. I saw them there a couple of days ago. They have a lot of dried fruit - cranberries, apples, bananas, mangos.
  18. Super Baru Boquete, probably Romero, though I haven't looked. Big bags at Price Smart. They tend to be in the same place as the raisins. If they're not, ask. They can put them in odd places, like with the cake mixes.
  19. I like Danka. I use them more than Revilla, though I also like Revilla. I have found things at both places that weren't even available in Hosp. Chiriqui pharmacy. I don't know what's going on with Any's. I've always been puzzled by that large wasted space (the front half of the store with hardly anything in it).
  20. Please steal her. I know that's not legal, but so what.
