Dianne, Please see: Further, be advised that we are in the beta testing phase of additional functionality regarding classified ads here on CL. When we complete the testing, then there will be an announcement about the changes in how classified ads are handled on CL. We think it is moving in the right direction. Just hang in there a bit longer until we are ready to go public. Until then, the above referenced link provides the guidelines as to how classified ads work on CL as of this point in time.

David, Might I suggest that you set up your blog on CL? The price is right -- zero. We maintain it. Call it what you wish and you control the content, and as to whether you allow or disallow comments to be posted. Again, the price is right. Just a suggestion to ponder. P.S., It was nice to meet you in person for the first time last Saturday.

A good deal of research turns up no definitive problem or resolution. The software techies that support the CL application have researched this issue as well. The problem is apparently related to an image that is quite large, and here we refer to the pixel size (height or width) of an image, and not the file size. (This is somewhat counter-intuitive, but it is what it is.) The error message seems to surface when an image is excessively large, for example 2,500 pixels or more in its longest dimension. The recommended solution is to resize an image, by downsizing the number of pixels to a number that is approximately 900 pixels or less in the longest of the two dimensions. On Macintosh machines, there is a standard application called "Preview" that can do this resizing task. Open the affected image in the Preview application, then click on > Tools > Adjust Size. You can then play around with the various settings to downsize the image. We recommend that you be sure to check the "Scale Proportionally" box. Recommended maximum pixel size in either direction is about 900 pixels.Then save the image and it should then be able to be uploaded into CL. This workaround should take less than about 30 seconds. On Windows machines, Photoshop or other photo adjustment applications are readily available to downsize an image. Again, we are NOT talking about the file size, but rather the pixel width or height. CL regrets this situation. We will continue to look into it and hopefully get a definitive resolution.

CL has received a few inquiries (actually complaints!) about an error message that is displayed while trying to upload an image (JPG, for instance) into a posting. The error message is cryptic at best, and looks something like this: What can I do to upload the image?
