What neighborhood?

You say $9.25 for dinner per person is not bad for here in Boquete? Chop Sticks is not tucked away or a hole in the wall place. We have not been there yet so will hold off on judging it. But let's give them credit. It is a brand new place and Boquete sure needs a good Chinese restaurant, not another very expensive Italian Resturant. We lived in San Francisco for over 20 years and have visited many many restaurants. Unless you go to a hole in a wall place one would be very hard pressed to find restaurant prices as inexpensive as these I.O.O. Yes, there are tucked away places and they look like it. Sure there are places where you can find cheaper food. And that's exactly what you get: Cheaper food! Let's give them a chance. $9.25 per person is a deal. A little steep on the prices? If the food and service do not measure up would agree. Sounds like you left as a happy customer.

"I am certainly not alone in getting the shaft like this. Nothing to be done about it...just venting." Some friends of ours avoid this by having 6-month contracts. They simply do not renew the contracts if the employee is not working out. Plus it gives the employee incentive to do good work so the contract can be renewed and they have work that otherwise they may not. Just a suggestion. You will need to consult with your attorney. We had our retirement investments with Morgan Stanley for over 25 years. They "fired" us last year!! Good thing! They said the reason is we are residents of Panama and they were dropping Expat accounts. We switched everything to Charles Schwab. Our advisor was born and raised in David. His family is still here. He is the Central Ameican Financial Advisor for Expats in Central America and based in Florida. The service with Charles Schwab has been excellent. It did require a LOT of paperwork and verification of our address here, to move everything over. We use a relatives address in the US for our physical address. But, we have informed all our US banks that we are residents in Panama. Never a problem with any of our accounts or Credit Cards. Still, have to let our CC companies know when and where we travel to. Bottom line regardless where you live/travel you should still have the same relationship with your US Banks. Just be upfront and let them know. Hope this helps you.

We have friends that just took out a policy. Get a local agent who can handle all that for you, including, car, home, and renters insurance. Our agent is Gloria Detresno. Did you check with the hospitals here to see if they accept that insurance plan? Otherwise, you will have to pay as you go and get reimbursed from Meridien .

Pat, These are NOT negative post replies. Simply a matter of actual experience. And the post is NOT about naming the best restaurant. Penny is simply looking for suggestions for a decent breakfast place in David. Which a lot of us here on CL would appreciate knowing. As for Mcdonalds, I worked in that industry for many years. I would not put any fast food product into my body. From Jim and Judi: No chance in hell I'm eating at McD's. Id rather eat a pbj at home. TOTALLY agree!! From Brundageba Multi Cafe. Not cheap but complete and good. Two of them close to the center of David I believe this is the kind of info that Penny would appreciate.
