  1. AS I SEE IT. Yes. There is corruption in our 3 powers in our state and government systems: Judicial, legislative and Executive. There are some people that not only crave for the political power but also crave more for the economical power. People wants money in an easy a quick way. They want to get rich not matter what. Why this is happening? What do we have to do to stop it? If everything starts from the government officials and they did it freely and without consecuences what will the normal population will think and do. If we are living in a place of pirates then you will be a fool if you dont act and become a pirate too. I have phrase that I use to illustrate this: When your song is not good, even to clean office, get him to be a politician. There he could make money fast, doesnt need to go to college and he could get rid of any legal consecuences. Our lawmakers usually makes laws to protect them from legal actions and investigations about corruption acts they could be involved. Recently in some countries in South America they did laws where corruptions crimes committed by any government official wont prescribe in time. They will be open until by any other circunstances should be closed. Of course our legislators or diputados (senators) reacted. People is pushing hard because they are tired of those people getting rich with our money. The other problem is law enforcement. Rich people and powerful politicians has economic resources, legal resources and a system that makes them to get away from legal actions against them. This should be stopped. But hey! This happens also in big and developed countries. The problem is that Panama is a very little country and is very noticeable all the cases that develops. It is a big scandal here... but what we can do. People can only protest and demand for justice. If they commit a crime they should pay for it as any normal citizen. This is not good for any country and a lot of people in Panama is fighting to end this bad practice. It will took some time. We don't want to have corrupt politicians. People are asking to not re-elect the actual diputados and for shure the political party of the actual president Varela wont have any chance to win next elections. People are for some amendments in our constitution. This president promised to do it but.... he wont shoot himself on his foot. So he hasn't done it yet.... and seems like he is not going to do that. We keep fighting. We keep trying to the best for our little country. It is a hard job but not impossible.
  2. If you bring this on your personal luggage there wont be any problem unless you bring an exagerate amount of products. When I travel to US I usually buy all the medicines, supplements and vitamins and bring them in mu luggage without any problem. It is enforced on items imported and received by the mailing services.
  3. It is very dramatic when you see a video of the accident that was taken by some surveillance cameras that were in the store in front of the bus stop where this tragic accident happened. That is correct. I saw the taxi at a very high speed impacting frontally with the pick up that was in the other side of the road.
  4. Also uploading the video or pictures in messages to the ATTT in tweeter also helps. Be sure to grab very clearly the license plate number. Also relevant pictures. Remember the lady dumping trash bags in the river. She was caught on video and sent via tweeter to ATTT and other authorities.
  5. Keith is already Panamanian. He is a person that is very interested in having real facts and correct information. He surely knows how to survive in Panama
  6. Their lawyers may have claim that the arrest process was not according to the law and because of that stupid things they will be released to only cautionary measures.
  7. A person took the video and immediatelly he posted it at social media/Twitter to the accounts of some authorities like the ATTT and also de Alcaldia de Panama. This post viralized and spread like fire. The person who took the video did a zoom to grab the car license plates. After a couple of hours and because the amount of people retweeting the post and asking authorities for actions the ATTT did a research in their data base for the license plate. They posted the photograph of the Transit Ticket of fine in the amount of $75.00. I am not sure where and who got the ID information of the lady and posted on Tweeter. It wasnt her cedula but information about her. I dont know if the ATTT revealed that information or someboby could have access to the database of the ATTT and grab the information. It is the driver information of the owner of the car with a license plate registered.
  8. Something about this. Our little towns in the Interior of Panama were peacefull, innocents, naive, etc. In some towns people didnt need to lock their doors. Neighbors were always at your side to help. But recently maleantes and criminals from the city of Panama, San Miguelito, Colon and Chorrera knew this weaknees of those small towns. Some of those people has seen those little towns as so naive that are easy for them to commit crimes. It is so sad. It is changing our little towns drastically.
  9. That is very probable. There are minor details to be fixed that the inspection want to be corrected before giving the final approval of acceptance of the project.
  10. Here is the video. The lady is dumping two trash bags in the river. But there is another picture taken the same day that she was caught dumping other trash bags at another bridge in Panama City WhatsApp Video 2017-09-08 at 6.02.04 PM.mp4
  11. I have to clarify that the woman is not a foreign national. She is panamanian born in a foreign country. Her cedula starts with PE that is Panamanian born in Extranjero or foreign country.
  12. I heard something similar from Agent Smith talking to Morpheus ( Lawrence Fishburne) at the Matrix Trilogy.
  13. Well. I guess I could use the address of some family members living in Florida. Looks like because I am not a resident in the US and not a citizen also I need to go personally to those banks and open the account and with the branch manager look for the account and benefits needed.
  14. I want to change my bank in the US. I am paying to much foreign transaction fees when using an ATM or using the Visa Debit Card. Maybe I will have to travel to Miami and see if I can open an account in another bank with better service and lower international fees.
  15. I have a checking account with the BB&T bank at US and have also a Visa Debit Card with the. They charged me if I use any ATM in Panama or any other country about $5 each transaction. They also charged me a Foreign Transaction Charges for any transaction paying with the Visa Debit card in Panama or any other country. If I deposit a check in any bank in Panama they will also charged me with a Foreign Transaction Charge. I did have this account open because the US companies I represent sent me my commissions to that account faster and easier but next time I travel to Florida I will see if I can change to another bank.
  16. Bonnie With a saving account you could ask your ATM CLAVE CARD to be used on the banks ATM without any Fee. Also most supermarkets and stores accept your ATM CLAVE Card for payments. You can draw money from other banks ATM but you will be charged a minimum fee.
  17. Language, with years, continue to evolve. In this case the definition should include: Musical Instrument of percussion in form of a wooden cube
  18. Hi Marcelyn I am not sure but you should ask your freight/courier service. I think this can be faster if you provide in advance some documents like invoice, etc. Once they land in Panama the process with customs will be fast and easy.
  19. I know Ivan De Icaza. We were fellow members of the Construction Chamber some years ago and I did not agree 100% about what he says. Of courses that construction materials, labor and permits have increased but the costs have risen because other factors he did not mention in the note. Speculation in real estate business is one of the biggest one. The contractors are not the one who got the biggest chunk of the money.... are the developers and owners of the projects who got the biggest piece of the cake.
  20. Keith Some people like to salt..... the salt. I have seen people with salty french fries, like your picture here, adding more salt to it. Incredible.
  21. Remember that Costa Rica and other countries in Central America has increased the drug trafficking activities. Also happens that some people do what is called in Panama "tumbes" . It is criminals that steal drugs and money from other criminals and try to hide the money somewhere else. Most of the executions between drugs gansters in Panama and Costa Rica has been because of kind of piracy among them
