AI Planet Telecom presents numbers that are useful to understand the cost and the economical analysis to understand if the project of such size is viable or not. According to the news paper note, it was the actual company that did the approach to Panama's government and presented the idea of the project. They are only doing the factiibility studies to see if that investment is viable. I guess that this train wont be only for transporting people but they will also consider moving cargo.

Well. According to the news the First Lady met some investors from China or Japan that were interested in doing the study first and later to star the project for the train system from Panama to Chiriquí. It is only a talk of intentions. I have not read anything else about it. I hope that the plans become a reality soon. Of course it is a project that could take some years to finish but for sure it will be a good project long waited by Panamanians. I guess it will also have some trains cars for cargo that could also contribute to revenues of the system.

Little by little they're getting rid of people that really used to spice up and give some flavour to the site. Some new people are showing up but the quality and relevance of the posts are boring with no substance. I am waiting to be on the list of banned people. Let see how long will it take.

I wrote a post that was deleted when the thread initiated by Cloudless was also deleted. It is sad what is happening to a site that used to be interesting. I liked the controversy and heated debate seven that some people posted harsh,insulting and offensive post. But those heated debates usually Rose some good opinions, points of views. I might be wrong but to me looks like the amount of posts have decreased and the importance of the threads diminished.

Crime is not targeted to Expats only. It is a problem that is affecting more Panamanians than expats. I think you can do whatever you want through your embassy but according to Foreign Relations I am so sure that the US Embassy would not be involved in a direct way. They could tell the Panamanian government about their concern about crime that involve their nationals but no more than that. I think that the best way to do this is working together with your neighbors: expat + Panamanians to protest and make your voice be heard. Use social media to express your concern about crime and minors not accountable to their crimes and how this situation could affect Panama’s tourism.
