I like the Toscana Inn (great furnishings, friendly staff, and good breakfast). Our only concern is their short term parking policy. When we have been delayed at the Embassy, Immigration office or for any other business matter we have to move our car to a different structure because of lack of parking space at Toscana. That chain in relationship to the men working on repairs is scary! I've witnessed many instances where Panamans work in a dangerous situation using little or no safety equipment. I admire them but worry at the same time. Thanks, Keith for these photos. Your contributions to CL are always appreciated. Where else could we find this timely information!

Need information re internet service available in Chiriqui. What is someone's input re reliability, good customer service, cost, etc?

We have a "parking situation" here in Boquete; i.e. where do I park while I pick up mail or run into the grocery store for a couple of items? Even delivery trucks have to park in the middle of the street causing congestion and delays. Plus there are the safety issues and traffic blockages from double parking. Parking meters might work. Ouch! Bad solution? Not in favor of meters but... What's the answer? More people are moving into the area.

JoJo: we had an electrician check our meter. Found no "hitch hikers". He did install a new device because the old meter was exposed at the street and front panel was filled with water. The electrician added cover over new meter that includes a heavy duty lock, too. Expensive! We have also been shifting to LED lamps. Lowered our electricity bill by a few dollars but the monthly charge is over $200.00. Still working on this situation.

Great information about Dr. Tello. Is he the vet that does the perfect work for Doberman ears? Dottie Atwater (member of CL) is doing an outstanding job with the animal neuter/spay clinic in Volcan. Hats off to Dottie and all the helpers who put energy into this project. Good Job!

There is a building (sort of looks like a new restaurant) in the general area of Emerald Drive and just south of Los Molinos. I was told this building is the show room for a very large housing development--maybe a thousand (1000) units. Anyone else heard about this? Wonder how utilities will be supplied?

Very early this morning (Sunday, October 25) there was a police check point near the Caldera bus stop area. Several police officers involved. Every vehicle approaching Boquete was stopped and given a visual check.
