  2. Las Trancas is south of Brisas and north of Los Molinos. As I recall a home invasion and robberies occurred in Las Trancas about 5 years ago.
  3. I have no first hand information on this incident other than what I read as reported by another individual. . It was was reported that armed, masked men in a pickup gagged and tied residents in the area of Brisas in Las Trancas. Report stated it occurred at noon Nov 9. Robbery, no injuries. . I would like to know if this is in fact true.
  4. Well frankly the folks left over there are are new people who seem to be the most conversant. It's the blind leading the blind as far as I can see. Meanwhile...time to move on. The problems over there are of the administration's own making and I have zero sympathy.
  5. The best?...the people of Panama. Kind folks. The climate of Boquete. The beauty of the countryside. Peaceful life here. The worst? Youth who have elected to choose the criminal path egged on by adult pros.....gangs. Violent home invasions. Frankly when we came here over 8 years ago we anticipated exactly what is happening now. So you secure your home and use good common sense in how you conduct yourself. The fact that Panama law allows freedom to children who commit heinous crimes is a real concern.
  6. Bailing the sinking ship the only way they think might work. How many times will they shoot themselves in the foot ? It's so obvious it's incredible. Alison
  7. Well Roger.....happy to have you here. You have always been a wonderful source of information for us ...and guidance. Alison

This is an octopus of a connection that blows on occasion
  10. I first met Dawns father in that nursing home in 2003...so it's been 12 years of communication without a face to face meeting. They may well decide to drop anchor and rest in Bocas with occasional trips back to Alaska where they called home. Unreal relationship and I feel mighty blessed for it !

We celebrated my friends 70th Birthday and their recent circumnavigation around the world in a sailboat from Alaska landing in Bocas. Amazing folks....and great friends.

I never met Dawn but communicated with her for decades as her Dad was my mother's table-mate in the nursing home mom was in. After mom died I wrote to this elderly man for many years. At that point I had no living relatives. He was sort of my "Dad" by email. He died and I began writing to Dawn his daughter, now my "sister" by proxy. She and her husband (70 yr old) just circumnavigated the world on a sailboat from Alaska landing in Bocas. We had our first meeting together in Boquete. It was Chris's 70th Birthday...and we celebrated. Friends, family, adventures.....
  13. I can't help but get the queezies looking at that chain and the proximity to those men there in the river. It pops and it can really fly
  14. Duhhh...I just noticed the tabs at the bottom on that link. Thanks for all that work you shared Bill Hazel !
  15. Hummm...interesting. I wonder if he still gets $$ from his many advertisers. Quite a few..could be good income.
  16. Speaking of "Other Forums" What ever happened to Don Winner and his Panama Guide ? I see the site is still there with all the advertisers ...but suddenly he stopped on June 18 2015. What happened to the guy? Just curious.
