Panama's oldest established church, 1520. In Nata, just west of Penonome.
  3. Parasites are in all river waters, irrigation waters and potable waters in the Boquete District. They Thrive in the ground and are transported in river water and above ground and below ground crops. That's not all, pesticides and other chemicals run rampant here also. Fecal matter is a different story. This isn't a matter of who you are or how long you've resided in Panama.......................it's a HEALTH ISSUE. It ain't rocket science. Only the politicians can fix this. But fix has a different meaning in Panama.
  4. Where is the water purification plant being constructed? And has the sewage plant been started? I haven't seen or heard of a shovel full of dirt being turned for this. Repairing leaks, replacing pipes and maintaining supply are important. You would think a water district could manage more than two or three projects when the money has been provided up front. I know many locals that will not drink the water and haven't for sometime. So, it is a problem. The locals have more time living in Boquete than any expat. Also, think about the crops that use this water. It's not a simple look the other way thing. I'm in Boquete three to four times a week, spend money, donate tax money while there, and WILL NOT drink the water. I use bottled water. How slow is progress supposed to be when it comes to health concerns over a water supply?

    Big Day In David

Breakfast and then hit the ground in search of another adventure in Panama. First, watch some ninos practice soccer. Then maybe some lunch in town. Tonight the American Style Football with Panamanians playing dressed out in full pads. I've watched them before. They are new to this rough sport and you can see too much compassion lol. That is changing!!!! The do hustle though. As always some shopping for fresh vegetables.

    Old Behavior

I'm looking forward to new and exciting comments and ideas for the province or panama in general. I understand the difficulty of dealing with huge numbers of people and keeping the focus on your goals for this site. In my opinion, the disgruntled ones that came to Panama and keep that attitude in such a wonderfull country should rethink why they are here. Humor in my opinion works when all else fails. I take four things in life very serious now days; 1.Faith 2.Food 3.Sleep 4.Retirement Have a nice day, Hil Jenkins

    Old Behavior

I went to bed early last night so my allocated sleep hours ended up early this morning. Having said that, looks like some ole "other site" members have arrived with the same old bully tactics and insults and can't see the truth if it hit them in the face. They are slowly testing the waters on this site. One thing I've noticed; "this administration and moderators Do NOT do personaities." So, it will be interesting counting the warnings and banning. Hope for the best but take what comes your way. Aristotle; "the only thing in life that is permenant is--Change."

  11. I went throught special forces training with the 7th SFG in Okinawa (Camp Hardy) in 1970. I had been searching for the Captain or XO of the unit since then. I found him on a website yesterday. 45 years later. Life is an Adventure and not filled with misery like so many I meet today on social media. This site is much better than the previous ones I visited. I especially like the warnings and point system. And the Privacy of your database is great. So far my opinion is; free speech, fair behavior moving threads to proper locations, and quick banning of trolls. TRANSPARENCY TO A DEGREE THAT IS FAIR. Your work is cut out for you------But, you have the knowledge and tech skills to keep Boquete informed with this site. The debating with hate is somewhat over now for most of us. Some of the trouble makers from another site are here-------- They will soon learn to play with others or.................they'll figure it out. Not everything in a blog is limited to Boquete. That's the beauty of this site. I was attacked by a few on another site for insuffcient time in Panama and not living in Boquete. Well, I travel to Boquete at least three days a week and spend money there, pay taxes here and I LIVE IN CHIRIQUI. I'm not competing in class warfare or narcissitic behavior that I see on other sites. Life is good and there are people on other sites that love chaos and misery. Again, Thank You Bud. My early morning gratitude.

A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

    Soccer

We went to a soccer match last night in David and watched local players. It is located behind La Brasas restaurant on the road to the airport on your left just past the prison.(big coca cola sign there). This is one of those mini soccer fields. There is seating and parking. Also, you can watch while eating in the restaurant. We enjoyed wings and patacones con camarone while watching the game. The wings were great and so were the patacones with shrimp in the center. These youngster really play hard. The girls actually hustle more!!!! This is a league with these fields scattered around the communities. One other field is located two blocks behind Lucys Deptartment Store at the Park with good seating and grilled food and drink.
  17. It appears the security meeting was well attended yesterday. Hopefully the officials can get more support for police, vehicles and investigators. Also, maybe the representative can at least start a Bill in Panama City for change in the juvenile laws.
