... bud can you combine my messages. Sorry
Chris, your postings are as combined as I can make them, short of editing individual posting content (which I prefer not to do).

Fundación Pro-Integración (i.e., the Handicapped Foundation)
NOTE: You must use the spelling of this organization exactly as shown in the bold text above, including the accented letter "ó" in both words, and the hyphen. On Windows machines you may use the character set ALT+0243 (meaning holding down the ALT key while typing the numbers 0 2 4 3, then releasing the ALT key) to enter an accented letter ó.

BCP Theater and Event Center or BCP Theater & Event Center
(There are two variants that work properly for this venue, the difference being the word "and" and the ampersand symbol "&". Even though most people believe "BCP Event Center" is the only correct name for this facility, it is Google's position that the only acceptable name is as shown in the first line of this posting; the word "theater" must be included in the name field.)

Chiriqui.Life (CL) has many "nice-to-have" features built into it. One of them is to show the location of an event that has been posted on CL's calendar, using the Google Maps geographical map panel within an event.
Because Panama is not as well documented as many other regions of the world, use of the Google Maps is at times difficult to configure properly. The purpose of this Q&A is to document what the more popular location configuration parameters are for various places in the Chiriquí highlands.
As an aside, one of the things that the CL staff has been doing over the past several months is to edit the Google Maps application database so that more of the Boquete area locations are configured in its database. Anyone is free to do that, but it can be somewhat daunting to sign up, sign in, and then do it. But if you are so motivated, we would encourage you to do so.
Please take note: it doesn't matter what the "official name" of an entity might be, nor what you think the address might be; the important concept here is that Google Maps is controlled by Google, and Google decides how things are called, or what their address might be. What is provided below is what works with Google Maps. If you do not agree with their names or the associated location data, then it is incumbent upon you to take the matter up with Google. We've tried, and failed repeatedly.
What follows in the replies to this question in our Q&A forum are the correct parameters to enter for the Google Maps data fields while posting (or editing) an event on the CL calendar. These replies will be added as new locations become configured by Google Maps. CL members can also add replies with these configuration parameters in case we have overlooked something of importance.
Note that Google Maps software is very sophisticated. It tries to be intelligent about the names and obvious variants of names, and has an ability to learn (the so-called artificial intelligence thing). Do not be surprised if you find that you are successful in using configuration data other than as outlined below.
Note that in all cases that the ZIP/Postal Code field is blank. If you input anything in the ZIP/Postal Code field, then it is highly likely that your Google Maps display will be a world map, indicating a failed configuration.

I hope this won't get me deleted from the site, but we have seen this business discussed before.
Maybe they are better now?

CL doesn't "delete" its members. We simply monitor and ensure compliance with the published guidelines and rules.
What you have done is cross-reference relevant information from another source, and cite that source.

I meant to write Save the Date for the Multi-Charity Venta de Patio. I checked it after it was too late to change. Another lesson in the importance of proof reading!
Gotcha covered. The title was corrected.

Bud, I think your innate politeness has compromised your ability to understand that people express themselves differently. I don't perceive any snipes or baiting, only posters who tend to speak more directly than you do.
Thanks, Bonnie. Perhaps I should be less polite in the future and more of a curmudgeon. I'll try to do better.
On the other hand, I was taught by my parents that honesty and politeness (in that order) are important personal traits -- for everyone.

New information:
Transporting large dogs or other large animals
Servicarga is the shipper out of Panama City that helps with larger animals in 700 sized kennels. The dogs must fly into Miami, and then from there to their destinations. The owner is responsible for getting the animal through customs and onto the connecting flight. Alfredo Amaya is the contact person. His phone number is 507-6671-0712, and his email is amaya.alfredo@servicarga.com.pa. He is very helpful.
Maggie's List (our pet care resource listing) shown above was updated today to Issue 1.15 with the incorporation of the information provided by Judy. Servicarga was added to the Pet Relocation Services category.
Thank you, Judy.

Thank you for posting this important information. I repaired your link to the BJBF website. There was a typo that caused the link to fail.
Also those interested in downloading the PDF need to know that CL membership is required to download anything. It doesn't cost anything to register, but membership is required (it is just the way our software works).
Best wishes for a successful event. I hear a lot of "buzz" around town that people are excited about this event.

I believe there is a significant date error in this posting. Their words say the event is on Friday, February 4th, but February 4th is a Saturday. Their graphics say the event is on Friday, February 3rd. Note also that this event has been posted on the CL calendar for Friday, February 3rd.
My guess is that this is a simple clerical mistake and that the event really will occur on Friday, February 3rd, but then who knows for sure. Perhaps someone involved in the management of this event could clarify.

Hi Pat,
Not really a regular reader, more of a dumbing around on the web kind of reader. Sometimes a web search of Panama news ends up here. As I wrote in my email, our visits over the last 47 years to Panama consist of Nena visiting with primos while I fix everything in the house of the primo. Fixing leaky plumbing is my specialty.

Welcome aboard, even if only intermittently.

The above postings related to the Odebrecht corruption and fraud investigation and prosecution now warrant a separate topic of their own. These postings were split out from the "miscellaneous fraud and corruption" topic and placed in this topic that is specific to Odebrecht.
As of today, CL now has three topics related to corruption and fraud:
- related to former President Martinelli, his family and close friends [at http://www.chiriqui.life/topic/843-whats-next-for-martinelli-his-familiy-and-associates]
- related to Odebrecht [at http://www.chiriqui.life/topic/4568-odebrecht-corruption-and-fraud-investigations-prosecutions]
- related to all other investigations and prosecutions, labelled "miscellaneous" [at http://www.chiriqui.life/topic/3097-miscellaneous-corruption-and-fraud-investigations-prosecutions]
This is a minor correction of my prior posting on this subject of the organization of topics related to corruption and fraud here on CL. There actually are four (not three) topics related to corruption and fraud. Apologies for omitting the Mossack Fonseca topic. The four are:
- related to Mossack Fonsenca and the so-called Panama Papers [at http://www.chiriqui.life/topic/1912-mossack-fonseca-leak-reveals-elites-tax-havens]
