She is now offering three levels of Spanish classes in Boquete, Basic Level, Intermediate and High Intermediate. There will be a 2 week “Listening” class offered the latter part of May. You must be at the high intermediate level to qualify for the listening class. These are professional instructions with an easy, clear curriculum and the correct sequencing of material. Location of the class is in Boquete The Basic Class is called Crash Course Spanish ****Class meets Thursdays and Fridays 9:00 a.m -11:15 It will get you speaking fast! It shows how the language is organized, and teaches the tricks of the language, pronunciation, cultural notes, phrases, vocabulary, speaking; fluid conversations, how to ask and answer questions. 5. April 1, 2018 Dear Friends of the Boquete Handicap Foundation, This is to thank you all for making our Venta de Patio such a great success! On Saturday, March 17th, hundreds of people crowded into our small Fundación Pro-Integración facility in Alto Boquete… a space filled to overflowing with thousands of items for our sale at our annual fundraiser. The following week we opened the doors for three more days of bargain sales, and again we were inundated with buyers. We even received more donations! This is such a compassionate and generous community in which we all live... Between our ongoing Internet sales and our on-location Venta de Patio, we have raised enough money to help us meet our first quarter expenses. We sincerely thank every one of our wonderful supporters who donated and delivered the spectacular variety of merchandise. And we also thank the hundreds of loving supporters who came to purchase this treasure trove of bargains. Thanks to “You”, our handicapped members will continue to receive the help that they need so much: Medical care; Medicines; physical therapy; transportation to schools and to doctors. In addition, your contributions are helping us to provide a loving community-center, where our members enjoy a home-away-from-home among their friends and fellow Boqueteños. A special place in an environment where they share a recreational life that is otherwise unavailable to them. The FPI Board of Directors; our dedicated team of Volunteers; our handicapped FPI Members; and their Caregivers… We all thank you, from the bottom of our hearts!

Tuesday, June 5 -- As a celiac diagnosed over 30 years ago and traveling the globe for business, Boquete resident Sharna Kahn quickly had to master how to minimize the risk of eating out at most any restaurant and obtain a gluten free and allergy free meal long before the food industry knew what gluten was. One book is titled "How We Lived in Wellborn before Television" about the small town in Texas where he grew up in the 1950’s. He took note that Wellborn residents were very close-knit and friendly. People visited each other, sat out on their front porches and didn't lock their doors. But that was before TV arrived and changed everything about the small village. People did not visit as much and socialization virtually stopped inside homes as everyone was glued to their new boob tubes. Glenn will present a thoughtful comparison of today's cell phone and computer technology with the TV invasion of the past. Are cell phones the new TV? You can now see people sitting at home with their cell phones glued to their hands sending messages to each other in the same room, even on the same sofa. Real communities are being replaced by virtual ones. Where is all this tapping and beeping leading societies? Depressing or enlightening, the audience can choose. To suggest a speaker or topic for these meetings please email BCP Tuesday Meeting To become a vendor at the Tuesday market, Facility Manager

  21. ARF Name Change Announcement We are excited to share that we are changing the name of our organization. As of March 26, 2018, ARF will become Salvadores de Animales. This name change will allow us to better connect with the Panamanian community and present ourselves with a name that is both recognizable and identifiable. By rebranding ourselves as Salvadores de Animales we look forward to being able to increase our visibility within the local community, expand our outreach efforts and grow our volunteer base. In addition, this name change will coincide with a change of our organizational structure. This restructure will allow us to operate more efficiently. Going forward, Salvadores de Animales will operate with three internal Directors and an external Advisory Committee made up of members of our community who are experienced in animal organizations, business operations and law. Our commitment to the animals remains our highest priority. We have successfully adopted over 200 animals operating as ARF. We look forward to continuing this success as Salvadores de Animales as well as growing our rescue, foster and educational outreach programs. To find out more about our changes and check out our new web page please follow this link: http://www.saldea.org/news.html?lang=en
  22. Hello All, Please note that yoga class will be postponed during the Easter holiday dates and while I am traveling. The last class will be this Thursday, March 29th from 10-11 am (Gentle Hatha)... and classes will resume on April 18th, Wednesday from 10-11 (Ashtanga Short Form) and will continue on regular schedule. General info is as follows: Classes held at “Room of Time” Gym, near the Boquete Library. Price: $6.00 for 60 minute class. Mats available for rent or purchase. Learn more at: www.yoga-boquete.com GENTLE HATHA YOGA Monday, Thursday & Saturday 10:00 am – 11:00 am, $6.00 A Hatha Yoga class that is relatively gentle, slow and great for beginners or students who prefer a more relaxed style. As this class develops it is able to be custom-tailored to the group’s needs in the spirit of traditional yoga where asanas (poses) were ‘prescribed’ for various conditions (ie, back pain, tight shoulders, and a multitude of other aliments / afflictions.) … Hence, the more you attend practice — and provide feedback — the more supportive and deep the practice will become! ASHTANGA SHORT FORM Wednesday & Friday 10:00 am – 11:00 am, $6.00 This is an active 60 minute class, structured on the main poses from Primary Series (see description below.) Focus is on the breath. Poses are held for five breaths and are interconnected with flowing movements. The same sequence is repeated each class, building strength, flexibility and focus… so that eventually your practice becomes a powerful moving meditation! This class is open to beginners, but is not a “gentle” type of yoga. The beauty of Ashtanga is that there is always “room to grow”… there is no need to be intimidated, and there is no competition. You may find you choose to rest during some poses, and modifications are encouraged when needed. PRIVATE & SEMI-PRIVATE CLASSES AVAILABLE! ~ Please inquire for more information. Joy Alexander, cell: 6426-0843, email: joya250@hushmail.com
