This is now ( Aug 12 2019) day 4 without a drop of water entering our Brisas Boquetenas community. Anybody know why?
-
I had to read the entire thing again and ponder it.
So because too many college grads can not pass the entry exam into medical school , the move is to...eliminate the entry exam. It's like the vehicle safety inspection here. Too many cars could not pass one here. Solution? Eliminate the actual "exam"......all cars pass bald tires n all. Brakes? only an option.

I can hardly believe this .

wow........I doubt this will end quietly

This is where the study dollars will come from?.....hmmmm I'm pondering that a bit. This is one of those studies that could fer sure put some Martinellis in the studiers' pockets. You could make a career out of it.

At a cost....theirs I hope

Our neighbor's issues inside the house came from an area around the outside of the house. .This area was constantly moist. He installed gutters. He also dug a trench around the side of the house that was the wettest. It was about 2 feet deep or so. Then he laid down a barrier plactic sheet all along the side of the house . He then filled that with gravel . He did this in the dry season. Now time will tell.

So the irregularities and code violations that see this edifice encroaching on the public right of way and other properties will be ignored
No fines?

If $400.00 is the annual coconut foundation contribution, maybe $200.00 twice a year might be easier. We could do that.

Source of moisture needs to be eliminated first or it's a forever deal.

Bald tires are common. ( sold as slightly used in lots all over Panama)
-
wow...and who gets to pay for the damage? Thank God nobody was killed. Also thank God there's vehicle inspections......like brakes checking on heavy haulers.

Me too and it drives my husband nuts. I'm perpetually nervous in the passenger seat.
-
My husband narrowly escaped being T-boned (hit square side on) in Boquete yesterday. He was on the side road driving by the library and a car blew the intersection non stop.
Bill landed in the ditch. Fortunately there were no obstructions to hit as he avoided that near collision. sigh....seems to never end ....the surprises on the road.

We have been with him from the very start. 4;00 am , when I needed an ambulance for a neighbor is bad shape Rodney helped...and that neighbor was not with his service. He as well was outstanding when another neighbor had a home invasion...and one of the residents was Panamanian and spoke fluent Spanish!! In an emergency, Rodney is a vital asset to you. To drop his service would be ( as my mom would tell me)...."Biting your nose to spite your face" Crazy. Don't drop. . ...his service is ridiculously inexpensive for the value.

To say Rodney Direct..." .no service " I believe should have been discussed with Rodney directly not here. I agree with Keith 100% who BTW who was giving you sound advice. Hey if I have an issue with a person I go to them directly.....To blast him here on this forum was unfair to him. I do know that phone service was out on the coast and is out frequently when transmission issues arise. That may well have been the case here.

If I'm not mistaken the source of the problem is contamination by the runoff of waste water from greenhouses in the area.
Nothing specific...like was it weed killer ? Another question is how clean are the ruptured lines everywhere that are exposed to everyday runoff of Roundup ( weed killer) , Arebo ( insecticides) etc. There are lines that are so open it's like a river running. Are folks that can not afford water filtration a/o bottled water then vulnerable ?

Yup...Ok I think we got it !....nuff said

Good friend and old neighbor.
Important to understand that he in teaching yoga that day, may have had to touch to demonstrate, but that touch my not have been with sexual intent. That is this man's personal testimony. I find that very believable knowing him. The event happened at the peak of the " me too" era of female testimonies against men and inappropriate touching. No doubt this was bad judgement on the part of my friend to attempt teaching yoga to youth, and especially a mixed group of boys and girls. Also it was extremely bad judgement on the part of this school system allowing adult male substitute gym teachers to teach their female students.

Grumble, Grumble - Another Electrical Outage
in Public Utilities (Water, Sewer, Electricity, Propane, Garbage Service, etc.)

I doubt improvement of electrical service will be forthcoming soon, and might get a bit worse. Friends on the coast go hours and sometimes days without power now. That is happening more often...and longer. It is very hot there without a fan nor AC. At least we have a cool climate going for us here.
