We offer training with wooden sword (bokken). It was once part of medieval samurai culture. Nowadays people seek in it inner clarity, determination, harmony with the body, release from every day stress. And of course, work with the bokken is a great opportunity to use the wide range of movements with the arms and shoulders (what we normally do not do in modern life).
These trainings are for all who is interested in studying work with wooden sword (any age, any athletic level). We have dozen of bokken waiting for the training in the great mounting open air of Boquete.
When: each Saturday, 9:00-10:00
Where: Boquete Park, straight ahead from the main entrance
Who: Bernd and Aleksandra, black belts in Aikido
Language: English/Spanish/German/Russian
Questions: +507 6410-8918, Aleksandra
Work with wooden sword (bokken) is a part of Aikido, a Japanese martial art which does not have competitions and focus on using the movement of partner to bring him (of her) out of balance. A regular Aikido training has a lot of round elastic movements, solves unnecessary tensions in your body and train 100% muscles of the body. Training with a bokken is usually given separate training sessions.
We, Bernd and Aleksandra, have many years of training experience, including teaching in Germany and Russia. For us Aikido is much more then a training: it is superb for life, excellent for health, and indispensable in both challenging and joyful phases of life. It fosters self-confidence, cultivates strong friendships, and provides a new perspective for handling all kinds of situations. We invite everybody to share this experience with us.

DEEP FLOW YOGA
THURSDAY 8 AM
SATURDAY 9:30 AM
Vinyasa means breath to movement and is often referred to as a “flow style” of yoga. The Vinyasa practice becomes a moving meditation linking each posture together with a fluid breath flow. It is a practice that creates strength, flexibility and unity within the mind and body.
Deep Flow Yoga a is a form of vinyasa that is challenging and powerful. Poses are held longer than traditional vinyasa to help build stronger muscles. If you are looking to challenge yourself while building strength and endurance, power yoga is a good fit for you.

Community Christmas Party Hosted by Amigos de Boquete Comunidad
By Moderator_02,
The party was planned and executed by a recently formed group of expats under the name of Amigos de Boquete Comunidad (ABC). Joe Hart and his wife, Linda, along with numerous volunteers put together this festive gathering. Our hats off to Joe, Linda, and all of their elves.
Here are a few pictures from this event:

ARF Thanksgiving Meal
By Bud,
An unexpected plus for us was that we finally got to meet Beth Abrahams (it is kind of a long story, don't ask).
Beth Abrahams
We also got to catch up with all of the latest travels and happenings of our friends who were at our table. Met a few new people, etc.
There simply was nothing that we could fault (not our goal anyway). This is the way things should be done, and ARF did it with all of their wonderful volunteers. If someone found fault with something yesterday, then I would chalk them off as being a token curmudgeon. Thank you ARF! GREAT JOB!!!!
Thank you to all who helped make yesterday's Thanksgiving Day celebration such a huge success, and special thanks to N&N:
I will close with: we all have a lot to be thankful for.
