HEAVY  rains that hit the province of Veraguas caused landslides and mudslides in the streets and roads of the districts of Santa Fe, San Francisco Calobre and Veraguas.

The most affected communities are: Chorrillito, La Perdiz Arriba, El Penon, and Chorrillo .

The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) is coordinating with the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) to handle any futher emergencies that arise in the province.

Meanwhile the  high waves alert issued by Sinaproc on Friday, September 16, remains in effect on the Pacific coast until Thursday, September 22  with waves approaching six meters.
