Keith Woolford Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 (edited) Government Seeks to Boost Tourism Panama is seeking to boost the tourism industry through a public-private partnership that has brought about 150 executives together to promote the country as a travel destination. They will be part of the seventh edition of the International Tourism Expo which begins tomorrow in Atlapa. This exhibition - which will run through Saturday - seeks to provide a platform to present products offered by airlines, cruise ships, shopping centers, tour operators, hotel chains and other establishments. Attractions such as the Panama Canal makes Panama a unique destination, according to experts. And once the expansion of Tocumen International Airport in complete, it will be able to handle 15 million passengers a year. "The expo will provide the opportunity to show the world how wonderful our country is," said Jaime Campuzano, chairman of the Chamber of Tourism. More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the event, which has 3,000 meters of exhibition space. The event is being organized by the Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Chamber of Tourism. Exhibitors will be present from the United States, Europe, Asia, South America, Central America and the Caribbean.
