Featuring artists from the National University of Panama, masters in cello. You will be able to enjoy the talent of these professionals of classical music that will perform beautiful and tuned melodies, in hands of the internationally known director Isaac M. Moderators Moderator_02 Posted March 28, 2019 Moderators Share Posted March 28, 2019 Marcelyn and I attended this Sunday concert that was sponsored by Fundacion Biblioteca de Boquete. It was pretty much a packed house. The Concierto de Cellos is directed by Isaac Casal, who opened the afternoon's entertainment with a few remarks about the group. There were a total of eleven cellists, ten student musicians plus the director. The concert started on time and was obviously well-received, given the enthusiastic applause by the audience. Below are two video recordings made during the performance, but using only a handheld still camera and using only the built-in microphones. Following the two videos are some pictures of the performers. And finally at the very bottom is a copy of the program brochure. Several of the pieces performed were enthusiastically supported by the audience. It was La Pantera Rosa (The Pink Panther) by Henry Mancini that elicited strong audience participation and resounding approval. We are so appreciative of the efforts put into these cultural events by Elsa Castillo, who is the head of the library here in Boquete. If you wish to support these events you can arrange for a season ticket that provides preferred seating at all performances during the year. Just contact Elsa at the library.
