  5. Yes, it's true...but I've managed to find a spot at the car wash across the street, or at Sugar & Spice when they are closed (Wednesdays at after 6 other days), or even on the side streets. Once I parked in the back lot of Fundadores and walked the short block. No matter what...the food is worth the hike. Check this attachment out....
  6. We ate there last night and it was GREAT!! Super food, good menu, service and price is right!! Where Parmesiano's used to be....across from Sugar & Spice, across the bridge from Fish House. Ate on the deck....give it a try. Keep them in business.

  10. I have an envelope to the IRS that must get in the mail by April 15. Is anyone going to the US who could take this and mail it for me? Penny Ripple - 6948-8255
  11. Yes, this was Delicios Del Andes...next to La Posada...always empty, right? Well, that will change soon because it is DELICIOUS! The decor and waitress are the same, but the food is waaayyyy better and the prices reflect that. I've eaten there twice now, and tonight I've requested it for my special birthday dinner with Jim. I'm going to have the Langostina Newburg....and the Princess Chicken is great too. With this and RetroGusto in town, we've got some great choices. And, yes...there is an Oferta Simple coupon that is available now...see link below. https://ofertasimple.com/ofertas/panama/comidas-bebidas-mar-de-grau-boquete-chiriqui-21ene16-2p
  12. For days I have been wading through the mire of what is happening to DirecTV service and their satellite. I have located another source for DishNetwork and have heard from several that they are interested. Here's the latest: The PR Directv service provided by Gladys Archer has been going down for the last few weeks...first one home, then another...while some are still receiving a signal. Gladys sent an email saying that the satellite was 15 years old and they are replacing it with one that will no longer serve Panama. I spoke with Michael Delgado (the other PR Directv provider) today and he reports that he is not having problems with the satellite. He is going to call Gladys and find out what is happening to her, and will get back with me. They use the same satellite, so this all seems so strange. My question is: PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL IF YOU SUBSCRIBE TO PR SERVICE THROUGH MICHAEL DELGADO AND REPORT IF YOU ARE HAVING ANY PROBLEMS, OR IF YOU HAVE LOST THE SIGNAL. chiriquiwoman@gmail.com If indeed Michael Delgado can still provide service without problem, it is a much less expensive alternative to the new installation of the DishNetwork guy, who is coming here next week to do installations. We were almost ready to send him a $375 deposit (50%) when I decided to talk to Michael Delgado about this. I will report to you what Michael tells me after he talks to Gladys. So....I am just trying to figure out what the truth is about the various satellite TV providers. I do NOT need any information about the wide variety of internet sources for TV since our internet speed is very slow and cannot handle all the buffering. So please don't tell me about IPTV or your type of internet TV. That's not what this is about. We're ONLY interested in information from anyone about their current satellite service. Thanks...please respond right away, as tomorrow is our deadline for a decision on DishNetwork. chiriquiwoman@gmail.com

  14. I am gathering names for those interested in receiving DishNetwork in English satellite TV service here in Boquete. I am in touch with this company and when I have a list of names, I will contact them about coming to Boquete to do installations. Learn more about the service at http://www.usatvsatfrompanama.com/. If interested, email me at chiriquiwoman@gmail.com. Penny Ripple
  15. I'm gathering names for those who are interested in DishNetwork here in Panama. Go to http://www.usatvsatfrompanama.com/ to learn about this. I am in touch with Alberto there and when I have a list of names of those interested, I'll get with him to organize installations. Better to give him a big list to make coming to Boquete worth his time, rather than one of us at a time. Let me know if you are interested in this. chiriquiwoman@gmail.com
  16. Sorry for the omission...we did of course include The Azuero. We talked about Las Tablas, Pedasi and Venao for one trip and the Pollera Festival in Las Tablas for July. Both were on the survey we conducted and there is quite a bit of interest for those.
  17. I just stopped by this group to see what you Windows people were experiencing. I switched to MAC 7 years ago and have been in heaven ever since. Then Steve Jobs died! I said at the time...."now it will get strange" and indeed it has. MAC people don't have to pay for upgrades, and I have upgraded through about 5 operating systems with no problem. THEN, (now that Jobs is dead) they come out with El Capitan and I am in HELL. I actually told MAC support that "I feel like I'm in Windows-land again". I have actually gone through trying to reinstall my previous OS, Yosemite, but that didn't work because my backup data wouldn't convert between the 2, so I went back to El Capitan. Ever since I am on the phone with MAC support constantly. I was just about to go to David and buy a new MAC (they still have Yosemite OS in them), but then thought..."maybe Windows has finally got its "s__t" together with a decent operating system. Now that I read all these nightmare comments, I guess I'll stick with MAC and either figure it out with my machine or buy a new MAC. Thanks for giving me some insight into Windows.
  18. Bud...we are Planet Telecom users and pay $200 a month for 3 mb!!!! This does NOT support streaming. We cannot get CableOnda due to our remote location...although they are now wiring the entire Jaramillo loop, they won't come down our driveway which is 1/8 mile from the main cable, even though we offered to pay half of the cost. We also have PR DirectTV and a MAC Mini that gives us Netflix and plays our movies, etc. CableOnda has told us that they will be introducing 10 mb wireless starting in January for around $100 (price not firm). This will be more than 3 times faster than Planet Telecom for half the price. We can't wait! I suppose that is why they bought MobilNet...so they can have the wireless backbone. But I am curious....why you can't get enough bandwidth with CableOnda fibreoptic? They offer up to 40 mb. Seems like you'd just buy that. Planet Telecom gives good service by are VERY expensive and I believe their highest capability is 4 mb for $250 a month.
  19. Join the Tuesday Meeting to learn about traveling around Panama. BCP at 10:30.
