A lot of poor Panamanian people

A lot of 'the poor'  Panamanian people in the Capital are Taxi drivers, and they were around a long time before Uber showed up.

You want to replace Taxis with unmarked cars from the Uber platform and put tens of thousands of marginally employed people out of work so I'm not convinced that "poor people" are your concern.

Uber was meant to be an transportation option for those wishing a premium service and it was originally presented and marketed as such in Panama.

Interesting.  In some parts of the world this practice would be banned since it's discriminatory towards people who can't afford to maintain bank accounts let alone credit or debit cards.

This is an impending condition of the License to operate being imposed by the government.

There are tens of thousands of taxis 🚕 which take cash.

  3. Today's outage was the re-scheduled shutdown which was cancelled earlier due to inclement weather. The power was supposed to be restored by 9:45 but they ran late.

There are a number of very big crews doing maintenance work all over the country in response to directives from ASEP to improve service.

This baffles me.  How do people get butterfly fluff all over their skin?  And I would love to know what this evil butterfly that attacks ankles looks like.

Wikipedia:   Butterfly adults are characterized by their four scale-covered wings, which give the Lepidoptera their name (Ancient Greek λεπίς lepís, scale + πτερόν pterón, wing). These scales give butterfly wings their colour: they are pigmented with melanins that give them blacks and browns, as well as uric acid derivatives and flavones that give them yellows, but many of the blues, greens, reds and iridescent colours are created by structural coloration produced by the micro-structures of the scales and hairs.

    genus Hyglesia.

I could not find any reference to the genus 'Hyglesias', let alone a photo. Turns out that's because it was misspelled.  The correct genus is Hylesias.

Wikipedia:  Hylesia is a genus of moths in the family Saturniidae. The genus was erected by Jacob Hübner in 1820

Some are Nigrinis or Black Moths

the argument that the US or "First World Countries" need to lead the way and that everyone else will just simply follow.

That's right, Dan. Everyone will not just simply follow.

That's the reason that international agreements on a myriad of issues which have a global effect are required.

plastic waste in oceans by country pollution .jpg

Some people seemingly have a problem for every solution.

Ocean pollution is a global crisis. First world countries should be leading by example, not by finger pointing at others while shunning their own responsibilities.

Some of these topics were covered in the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement which the U.S. abandoned and is now defunct.
