protests in neighboring Colombia may be a scary situation for foreign residents in Panama. Stay alert everyone.
In what regard, Marcelyn? Are you referring to Colombians in Panama?

Thanks Doug.
Constitutional reforms are beyond overdue here in Panama but power, greed, xenophobia, and the influence of the Catholic Church threaten to derail them.
One only has to look to the South at current disturbances in Bolivia, Ecuador, and Colombia to see that ‘the natives are restless’ because they are sick and tired of self-serving políticos and corruption in government.

Going the other way, the rather steep descent down to the river on the Palmira side takes a minute and a half. That’s with brakes and a gearbox.

This is definitely aimed at foreign markets.
Can't see much reciprocal travel between the two countries. Jamaicans need a Visa to travel to, or even through, Panama.

Anyone else notice that all these leaked messages are only damaging to former President Varela's people and the PRD?
Not a bad word has emerged concerning former President Martinelli and his CD followers.
The courts here couldn't convict anyone of wiretapping political opponents so why not do it some more? The Pegasus electronic spy equipment which the public paid for has never been located.

The option is to build a tunnel for the subway to cross the canal on its way to Panama West.
Why drill a tunnel underneath the Canal if there's a bridge above? Trains are carried by multi-purpose bridges everywhere.

This is a very complete report by YouTube journalist Shauna Rae who couldn’t get past the effects of this tragedy without collecting and recording every fact possible concerning the case. She questions previously promoted conclusions.

The ambassador denied that the showing 'gesture' had any cost. "It was deference from Dubai and the friendly people of the Emirates to Panama. We paid nothing for that; it was only management made with love for our homeland," said through his Twitter account

It's pretty sad when other nations have to handle justice for one which is so corrupt as to be incapable of dealing with the theft of the people’s funds by public officials. The actions, inactions, and verdicts of the Courts in Panama are brutally offensive.

Have not seen any mention of el Dia de los Difuntos / Day of the Dead / All Souls Day. It should be Saturday, November 2nd in 2019.
Will alcohol sales be banned? Asking for a friend.

We can only hope the purchase was made transparently, and without graft, as was the case with student backpacks and computers during the Martinelli administration.

This video explains why indigenous people are protesting against this project.

It is widely co-approved that the best and most effective way to prevent it is through the implementation of comprehensive sexuality education. This tool has worked in multiple countries to reduce the rates of abuse against infants, girls, and adolescents
The Church needs to get out of the way on this issue.
It's good to see the mainstream press opine in favor but the response will be that the publisher is not a Roman Catholic.

sentences of 15 years for a Panamanian and 11 years for a Venezuelan woman
Absolutely ridiculous! These sentences far exceed those (7 years) which are routinely handed down for smuggling large amounts of cocaine and heroin.

Question will be who will be in charge of money management and financial oversight to prevent corruption. Then, who will be in charge of watching the watchers as millions and billions of dollars was mentioned .
The same people who have been administrating the fund for the last 10 years, I would imagine.

The only thing new here is a presence in Panama. I'm thinking the employment opportunities are good for the country.

For comparison, this is a preview of the 2020 Honda CR-V.
A Hybrid model will be available in North America, not sure about here yet.
To date, lane safety features have not been offered in vehicles built for Panama by any manufacturer.
