Constitutional reforms are beyond overdue here in Panama but power, greed, xenophobia, and the influence of the Catholic Church threaten to derail them.

 One only has to look to the South at current disturbances in Bolivia, Ecuador, and Colombia to see that ‘the natives are restless’ because they are sick and tired of self-serving políticos and corruption in government.

Going the other way, the rather steep descent down to the river on the Palmira side takes a minute and a half. That’s with brakes and a gearbox.

This is definitely aimed at foreign markets.

Can't see much reciprocal travel between the two countries. Jamaicans need a Visa to travel to, or even through, Panama.

The posted Environmental notice says permission was granted to level the area.

It's pretty sad when other nations have to handle justice for one which is so corrupt as to be incapable of dealing with the theft of the people’s funds by public officials.The actions, inactions, and verdicts of the Courts in Panama are brutally offensive.

Have not seen any mention of el Dia de los Difuntos / Day of the Dead / All Souls Day.  It should be Saturday, November 2nd in 2019.

We can only hope the purchase was made transparently, and without graft, as was the case with student backpacks and computers during the Martinelli administration.

Absolutely ridiculous! These sentences far exceed those (7 years) which are routinely handed down for smuggling large amounts of cocaine and heroin.

The only thing new here is a presence in Panama.  I'm thinking the employment opportunities are good for the country.
