Join us once a week for an easy morning nature walk "off the beaten path" somewhere around the Boquete area beginning at 8:30.
This Friday September 16 - meeting in the Plaza San Francisco parking lot - carpooling at 8:35 driving a short distance to where, we begin our 1-1/2 hour nature walk in the Alto Boquete - El Seminario area, then walking down to the creek Quebrada El Emporio.
Boquete nature walks are not hikes. We enjoy nature, stopping many times to take photos, bird watching admire a plant, flower, butterfly or something else that may catch our eye. That's the beauty of nature walking, we are not in a rush.
Always pack water, rain gear during the rainy season, camera to take some awesome photos, binocs to bird watch and wear sun block and a hat/cap.
These nature walks are free. I am share places, I've discovered short nature areas for walking on somewhat level terrain, they may even be in your own community right here in Boquete.
Meeting locations are announced here on Wednesdays or Thursdays. No need to RSVP - just show up. See you on the trail.
Email jere chica @ gmail.com (no spaces) for more info and to be placed on the email list.
Here are a few photos taken from the area, we will be walking taken at different times throughout the year. Notice the mountain in the background, the beautiful clouds, as well as the hues covering the meadow.

Art of the Didgeridoo
at La Ville Cafe - BCP Theater
Friday, September 16, 3 pm
We are very excited to have Hubert and Willeke Pena talk about the art of the Didgeridoo. Huber builds and plays them and Willeke does the painting on them.
They will talk about the origin of the didgeridoo in Australian aboriginal culture including its use in ceremonial gatherings as well as in recreation. The meaning of certain dance, painting, and music motifs in the early aboriginal culture with a brief discussion of "Song lines". They will discuss the method of traditional didgeridoo construction and how the modern didgeridoos have developed from that ie:types of materials used and the variety of decorations.
An explanation of the didgeridoo sound will be presented, as well as a short performance.
Several didgeridoos locally made from the agave stalks will be shown as well as a traditional didgeridoo from Australia
Don't miss this meeting. It promises to be exceptional and different.
Note: There will be an open board meeting at 2:15 all are welcome.

Community Christmas Party Hosted by Amigos de Boquete Comunidad
By Moderator_02,
The party was planned and executed by a recently formed group of expats under the name of Amigos de Boquete Comunidad (ABC). Joe Hart and his wife, Linda, along with numerous volunteers put together this festive gathering. Our hats off to Joe, Linda, and all of their elves.
Here are a few pictures from this event:

ARF Thanksgiving Meal
By Bud,
An unexpected plus for us was that we finally got to meet Beth Abrahams (it is kind of a long story, don't ask).
Beth Abrahams
We also got to catch up with all of the latest travels and happenings of our friends who were at our table. Met a few new people, etc.
There simply was nothing that we could fault (not our goal anyway). This is the way things should be done, and ARF did it with all of their wonderful volunteers. If someone found fault with something yesterday, then I would chalk them off as being a token curmudgeon. Thank you ARF! GREAT JOB!!!!
Thank you to all who helped make yesterday's Thanksgiving Day celebration such a huge success, and special thanks to N&N:
I will close with: we all have a lot to be thankful for.
