Due to the passage of tropical waves through the Caribbean basin and the proximity of the low-pressure systems and the monsoon trough located Heavy downpours and electrical storms are forecast July 21-23, on both sides of the isthmus. It was the second this week and extended until 9:00 p.m. due to predicted heavy downfalls accompanied by thunderstorms across the country. All kinds of trees down and flooding throughout the City. As of 8:00 p.m. the Metro is back in service at all stations and the City is returning to normal. The brutal storm this morning caused a lot of inconvenience and damage in a short time. I abandoned my City trip yesterday morning when the COPA flight took off about 9:30 and left the Air Panama passengers behind. Quote

The Metro subway system was suspended with some sections out of action throughout the day. Roofs were torn off in several sectors, power lines were brought down, and numerous cars were crushed by falling trees and roads were blocked in many areas. There was widespread flooding across the city, including streets around Hospital Santo Tomas.
