NewsLady Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Ralph Dessau, a long-time, well-known Boquete resident passed away Thursday evening at Hospital Chiriqui following a car accident. Ralph was a naturalist, a lover of birds (especially hummingbirds), an author, and a great story-teller. Born in Denmark, Ralph worked as an engineer both in the United States and in South America. He moved to Boquete in retirement and became active in the Rotary and other private charitable endeavors. His son Louis writes “He thoroughly enjoyed his time in Panama in particular with his winged friends so I suspect he has now earned his own wings and will be among the angels. Do not be sad, but rather think of a time he made you smile or laugh or admire one of the birds he was so fond of.” The library is also planning a showing of Ralph’s photographs and books with proceeds going to support the library. Ralph is survived by his son Louis and wife Sylvie and his wife of many years, Carmen. Quote
Penny Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 There is no immediate funeral planned. Later this summer there will be a celebration of Ralph's life at Emily Haworth's Honey & Hummingbird Finca. Here is the link to a 32 minute video Ralph produced: Quote
