New Community Center / Theater for Boquete

The owners/administrators of the Chiriqui.Life (CL) website are pleased to announce the release of video clip of a BCP "Community Chat" event that was held on Thursday, April 29th, 2021 at the Biblioteca de Boquete. The subject of this Community Chat was the future of theater in Boquete. There was a full audience for this event and a great deal of surprise and joy to learn of a project to create a new community center/theater for Boquete. This project is actively being spearheaded by Fundación Biblioteca de Boquete and dedicated community volunteers. The land for this project has already been identified and made available, a conceptual drawing of the facility was presented, and a major surprise occurred when it was announced that an anonymous benefactor has offered to match funds up to $1M for this $2M project.

This video clip is only of the first approximately eight minutes of this Community Chat. The remainder of that Chat dealt with performance event plans at alternative performance venues in the area, as well as the kinds of volunteers needed to bring these cultural events to fruition. This same Community Chat will be presented again on June 10th. We recommend that you make your reservations early because it will be another full house due to limited seating per Minsa guidelines.
