Dottie Atwater
Does anyone know how to cure this once and for all? I've tried different methods, all to no avail. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated! Dottie
Brundageba
Source of moisture needs to be eliminated first or it's a forever deal.
Dottie Atwater
So I guess the follow up question is how to eliminate the source of moisture from the lower part of some inside walls? That seems next to impossible.
Brundageba
Our neighbor's issues inside the house came from an area around the outside of the house. .This area was constantly moist. He installed gutters. He also dug a trench around the side of the house that was the wettest. It was about 2 feet deep or so. Then he laid down a barrier plactic sheet all along the side of the house . He then filled that with gravel . He did this in the dry season. Now time will tell. Keith Woolford
Dampness is ‘wicking’ by capillary action from below the wall because there is no moisture barrier.
Dottie Atwater
The area of the hongo is on a couple of inside walls. No doubt there is no moisture barrier (incompetent contractor!). But at this point, I was just wondering if there is any solution.
