  1. This seems to be going in a bad direction. I live closer to David than Boquete, but if I lived there I am pretty sure I wouldn't put up with all of these new rules and regulations. In one way I can understand, but it seems like the demands of the buyer have gone off the scale. Separating different colored papers into separate stacks. Get serious. I'll just put my recyclables in the garbage.

23 Cubans were arrested this weekend in Chiriqui on different buses at Guabala having been smuggled illegally in the country.

They were taken to Los Planes in Gualaca temporarily, to be sent to the city where they will receive due process before most likely being deported.

Wait a minute. Maybe the Cubans were coming here to help fix the roads in Boquete since the locals don't seem to be able to do that.?

I haven't seen any workers at the new Panamonte bridge construction in several days.

Having a bit of fun here. Given the title of the news article and the content of Doug’s reply, maybe the title should be changed to reflect megaprojects and microprojects because I can’t seriously think of the Panamonte bridge being a either a project or miniproject, and certainly not a megaproject. Microproject is the best word I can think of. ?

  4. Appears to be a really bad accident. Hope the fire fighter comes through this okay. Apparently he is the deputy fire chief in Boquete. Or assistant fire chief, or whatever they call that position.

This information raises several questions. I have been told repeatedly that accident victims are taken to Regional Hospital in David. Yet Rovira was taken to Chiriqui Hospital, which is a private hospital. Is there a logical explantation why?

The caption on the news article photo suggests that the bomberos truck went into the opposing lane. That is kinda hard to do given the explanation of where the accident occurred. What details are available? Weather doesn’t seem to be a factor. Was this a mechanical failure? Driver mistake? Excess speed involved? Just curious here.

Nice that this ACCB group supported the family of the fire fighter. Who is ACCB? I have not heard of them.

Well I guess the government needs to construct a condominium jail facility where they can house these crooks along with Martinelli .   Seems like the crooks always get the sweet suite somewhere, whether it be private house ( Martinelli) or a penthouse room at one of the finest hospitals in Panama City....for years !  Then they get set loose.

Put them all in Trump Tower and weld the doors shut. That would solve two prolems.

  6. Whatever their reason, it seems to have been poorly thought through and planned. Right at the last minute changing the name after about half a year of advertising as the BJBF. And then just changing the name at the last minute without any announcement or description or explanation.

Hope it works well for them in the future, but I suspect they will regret it.

BTW, I didn't pay the big bucks to listen because I could just sit in town across the river and hear everything going on. It was even too loud where I was. People should be more considerate of their ears.
