Pretty interesting site. Everything you would want to know about the countries #1 rum. They produce a lot more than rum. Big importers of wine.

The sister web site has a lot of information as well. They are open for tours. Would be cool to check it out!

In times past different hotels in Panama City would allow us to leave our car when we stayed with them before flying on to Houston. There was no charge; i.e. free. Yesterday we were told there would be a $5.00 per day charge for leaving our car at their facility. A few hotels quoted $8.00 per day
That is still a good deal. Bet you can find a hotel that will not charge you for parking.

Lots of hotel offers on Gustazo's an Oferta Simple this week!

Yes indeed! If you don't have a smartphone get a cheap disposable camera and keep it in your car!

Doug,
That is a great question. How can one claim that their shrimp is organic as opposed to wild caught shrimp? I do not think there are any shrimp "fast food meal plans" in the ocean.

We have dived in Panama waters. Although the diving can be good (restricted to dry season) we would not classify it as exceptional. The cost of two tank dives is higher in Panama than a lot of other diving locations. To get the best bang for the buck: visibility and sea life you are better off trying these places:

Of course, your diving milage may vary!

She is in Hospital Mae Lewis FYI.

Price Smart usually has it. In the deli section.

Multibank has a lot of fees! Charge if you forget your ATM password if you lost your card, yearly fee for FATCA, etc! We dropped them and went with Banco General. Took an hour to open an account. It took 3 days when we opened our account with Multibank.

Ok, Bud,
Time to shut this discussion down.
Thanks!

couple weeks back I got deathly ill from what appeared to be classic Salmonella after eating a sit-down Chicken Curry meal at the ChopStix in Alto.
You state it appeared to be Salmonella without actually knowing and then you slam and blame the restaurant without taking more action on your part to confirm this. Sad for you!

The folks that post these "news" releases and do not understand marketing and have no writing skills are only bringing it on themselves.

Totally agree with Keith.

After several back and forths with these people about the ads, the Newslady just gave up and sent it out.
Chef Ruben has kind of a checkered past in Boquete so we'll see . . .
Then why run it?

Are there proper sewage hookups at any of these RV parks? Where do they dump their waste?
At the new one here in Boquete, yes, there are proper sewage hookups. Looks to be installed to US standards. I would imagine with all the money they spent on the place they have a proper septic tank as well.

This could be the only RV park in Panama. Know of any others?
Marcelyn,

Stopped by Malu restaurant and spoke to the assistant manager about the RV park on the property: Panama Camping Park.
http://www.panamacampingpark.com/2018/02/14.html
They have 5 brand new RV's trailers of various sizes that they rent out for lodging only. There is no insurance set up in Panama for a business to rent RV's to actually take on the road. The owners are working on that. Full restrooms with showers are located next to the restaurant. This could be a nice and unique place for your out of town guest to stay at. Being former RV owners we were impressed with the facilities, full electric, water, and pump out spaces for visiting RV's at only $22 a night. Obviously, the owners have thought this out and realize the market potential. They are in it for the long haul.
This is one of only two RV parks in Panama. The other outside the city is XS Memories. http://www.xsmemories.com/recreational-vehicles.html
We wish them well!

Went here yesterday afternoon for an appetizer and wine. We met Astrid Puedas who is the pastry chef and assistant manager. She told us her two uncles are partners in this new venture and have more plans, especially with the RV park. They are all from PC.
She said the outside deck is dog-friendly!
The service, menu, food, and prices are terrific. We did not ask for the Jubilo as our bill was only $18.00 for the smoked salmon plate and 3 glasses of wine. With the low cost of the menu and what a great job and effort, they are doing to make a go of it we would like to see them be successful.
They open every day at 8:30 except on Mondays.

Glad you posted this. Great selection and prices! The website seems to indicate rental of RV's! http://www.panamacampingpark.com/p/camping-on-rv.html

Great place!

Gyro closed up a few weeks ago. Not surprised. The original concept that Mark and Gary had was very successful. Heard it might be a money issue. Had their equipment up for sale on Facebook. That location would be great for an Italian Restuarant! Just kidding! Actually, a wine and tapas bar would be great!
Good for Deborah!

Ok now. So, there will be 4 of them to serve the community now? Plus the one private ambulance from Dr. Lilliana Boya has?
5 ambulances for Boquete? I remember reading there are only 2-3 police vehicles. Is that correct?
Who is Rodney Direct gonna call? Are they all the same price?

Interesting. Presently there is a ban on harvesting shrimp in Panama: https://playacommunity.com/panama-articles/coronado-community/7137-shrimp-fishing-restrictoins-.html
Wonder where they are getting the shrimp from?
