Panamanian sprinter  Alonso Edward won Panama’s  first gold medal in the 100 meters at the  11th South American Games in Cochabamba, Bolivia on Wednesday, May 6

Edward, who made his name as a 200-meter specialist competed in the 100 meters with a time of 10.01, setting a record for the Games which run from May 26 to June 8, 2018.

Athletes from 14 countries, including Panama, are competing in in 48 sports disciplines.
