Moderators Moderator_02 Posted September 29, 2017 Moderators Posted September 29, 2017 Yoga Boquete is moving! Starting on Monday, October 9th, classes will be held at the J&S Gimnasio (the gym near the Boquete Library). Yoga Boquete will be taking a short break, from Oct 1st - Oct 8th. And then... it's back on schedule at this fabulous new location. Class prices will remain the same ($6.00 for 60 min, $9.00 for 90 min). Please note, you do NOT need to be a member to participate in yoga class. (In fact, gym membership & yoga class are not combinable.) GENTLE HATHA YOGA Monday, Thursday & Saturday 10:00 am – 11:00 am, $6.00 A Hatha Yoga class that is relatively gentle, slow and great for beginners or students who prefer a more relaxed style. As this class develops it is able to be custom-tailored to the group’s needs in the spirit of traditional yoga where asanas (poses) were ‘prescribed’ for various conditions (ie, back pain, tight shoulders, and a multitude of other aliments / afflictions.) … Hence, the more you attend practice — and provide feedback — the more supportive and deep the practice will become! ASHTANGA SHORT FORM Wednesday & Friday 10:00 am – 11:00 am, $6.00 This is an active 60 minute class, structured on the main poses from Primary Series (see description below.) Focus is on the breath. Poses are held for five breaths and are interconnected with flowing movements. The same sequence is repeated each class, building strength, flexibility and focus… so that eventually your practice becomes a powerful moving meditation! This class is open to beginners, but is not a “gentle” type of yoga. ASHTANGA FULL SERIES Tuesday 2:30 – 4:00 pm (90 minute class), $9.00 This is an active 90 minute class, practicing the full Primary Series which is arranged in a time-tested sequence designed to specifically align the body, strengthen the nervous system, and increase spinal flexibility. The Full Series is a challenge, but the results are life-changing! Emphasis is placed on breathing (Ujjayi), energy locks (Bandhas), gaze (Drishti) and transitions (Vinyasa). Poses are held for five breaths and are interconnected with flowing movements. The same sequence is repeated each class, building strength, flexibility and focus… so that eventually your practice becomes a powerful moving meditation.
