NewsLady
The Boquete Knitters and Quilters is an organization dedicated to creating knitted, crocheted and quilted items which we donate to various clinics, hospitals and other venues that serve the indigenous babies and small children in Boquete, Palmira, David and the Comarca. We have been active for over eight years, and have donated well over 5,000 caps, sweaters, quilts, booties and baby blankets since our inception. We welcome newcomers! If you knit, crochet or quilt -- or if you'd like to learn how -- we would love to have you join us! We get together to knit and crochet on Friday afternoons from 1-3PM at the Fundacion Pro Integracion (The Handicap Foundation) in Alto Boquete, about 2KM south of SuperCentro Ivan. It is the blue building with the red roof just north of the under-construction PoliClinica. We have needles (and a few crochet hooks) available, as well as a selection of yarns to work with. If you are a quilter, drop by one Friday to meet us and get more information about where/when the Quilters get together to sew.
