Thank you to everyone who contributed! We received a large contribution this month and we cannot thank the donators enough! Thank you to the “The Maggie Fund” to the tune of $500.00. A special thank you – To Heidi and Mike from Mike’s Global Grill. They donated some items for the Pancake Breakfast and are always so supportive in everything we do………Thank You!!!! 9 dogs and 3 cats found their forever home this month….we are so happy for these furries! If you have any friends or relatives looking for a pet, please direct them to our site or have them contact us, as we have many ready for adoption. Please consider fostering an animal if you are able to do so. When you foster an animal with ARF, we take care of all food and medical expenses – we just need you to provide a loving and protective environment. If you are not in the position to foster an animal, please consider making a donation. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Events: Recap: Pancake Breakfast/Adoption Event: This event turned out to be a great success all around. Thank you to all those that supported us by attending, and to all of our hard working volunteers who made this happen. We actually oversold the event so we have put this on the calendar for next year in February. Three dogs found their forever homes and for those 3 dogs this event made a difference! ARF has a busy November coming up with 3 functions. Make sure to mark your calendars! Bingo – November 3rd at La Villa at the BCP. Cash prizes! Remember, the more people who come, the bigger the prizes are so bring your friends! We just got our new bingo cards in-300-no duplicates, so we have plenty to go around. Thanksgiving Lunch/Dinner! On Thanksgiving Day (November 24th) we will be having a Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings. Rather than slave in the kitchen all day, bring your friends and family and let us do all the work and help the animals at the same time! As a “thank you” to the community for all of your support in the past we will be offering an affordable alternative to what is available in Boquete. As Thanksgiving is associated with a bountiful feast, we would also like to ask those attending to give back and bring a bag of food (Purina/Pedigree/Kirkland) or cat/dog toys to contribute for the many animals we currently have in our care. The tickets will be $20.00. The event will run from 2:00pm-4:00pm at the Animales Building and we will be raffling off two gift baskets with Autumn themed goodies. There will also be a full bar available. Holiday Bazaar for WINOS (Women in Need of Shopping) – This is an afternoon event planned for November 30th at Mike’s Global Grill…..just in time to get started on your Christmas shopping. Many unique vendors will be there selling their wares…….details will be announced shortly. And for December……we are taking a break! Attached are pictures of a couple of long timers with ARF needing a forever home: Buddy and Bingo Buddy was hit by a car and lacking nutrition at the time of his accident. We have had him since April and would really like to find a home for him. He is about 5 years old, medium size, and has a great personality. He loves to play with other dogs and is high energy. He is patient and waits for his food until he is given permission to eat. He does not like rain or thunder and wants to be inside the house during any storms. Bingo has also been with us for quite some time and we would like to find him a forever home to make room for the many other animals out there waiting for a spot. Bingo is fine with being an outside dog. He is about 5 years old and makes an excellent watch dog and loyal companion. He was surrendered to us in February of this year. To my way of thinking, this is a very good report, including all of the information that I like to see. By posting this, I am not wishing to discount the good work that other animal groups (AdA, the rescuers [M&J, etc.], and the clinics, etc.) in the Boquete and Volcan areas do, because you collectively are doing a lot of very good work. It just struck me that this posting was exceptionally well done, informative, and open. Thank you not only for doing what you do, but also how you do it.
