  1. Yesterday we went to Jaramillo to try to see how we can help a old guy who has 4 dogs and three small puppies, we left dog food for them, the mother of the puppies is small-medium size, she is seven years old and she was pregnant eight times ? We would like to help more but we need to give in adoption the puppies that we have and then we can take the mother and the small puppies. If somebody wants to help with foster, dog food, pay for the blood test to the mother and the other 3 big dogs, no puppies, buy medicines and vitamines, we will receive a donation for a friend who is in Europe, she
  2. Mr. Mitts had a family who loved him and gave him a good life. He spent a lot of time outdoors, but had the ability to come inside as well. His family left Panama and unfortunately was not able to return due to medical reason. Mr. Mitts is currently in a foster home, but they are moving at the beginning of September and cannot take him with them. He is gentle and loving. Mr. Mitts tested positive for the Feline HIV virus although he does not have the disease and may not for many years. He would need to be the only cat in the home so the virus can't spread, or would need to share a place wit

  5. Beginning March 1st for only two months. They will pay for food and provide the dog's crate and blanket where he likes to sleep at night. Friends in Boquete rescued this dog from an Indio. They tended a wound in the dog's leg and had him neutered. He went from a terrible life to a good life. The dog is apparently deaf. He is a hound...and of course howls. They have to return to the states for two months and they're at their wit's end about finding care for their beloved dog during that time. Can you help? 6517-8752 Dottie

  8. Here are a few of our friends hoping to find a loving home for the new year: Charlie is a male Cocker, around 3 years old and weighs 35 lbs. He likes to chase cats, but does not harm them. He is friendly with other dogs, chickens and children. His favorite pass time is cuddling. Very sweet little guy. Winnie is ready for adoption! It has been since February that this girl has been given TLC to get back her health and her weight…..she looks like a real Boxer now! She was being starved by her owner, and it was touch and go for a while there. Winnie is a very smart girl. She is

  10. Hello all, Well, I thought we might get a bit of a break over the upcoming holidays, but this is proving not to be the case. This is a plea to current, past, and future ARF fosters, as well as ARF donators, contacts, and the Boquete community in general for foster or forever homes for these animals. In the past two weeks + there have been many animals brought to our attention that we need to find placement for, some needing immediate placement. The most urgent are noted below. Pictures are attached. Cholo: This handsome guy was brought to our attentio
  11. Oct 29, 2016 - This little guy, was rescued by someone in David. He was taken to St. Francis animal hospital and was being treated for a very bad case of mange. Pepe's rescuer then took him to a foster home, which turned out not to be ideal. ARF got involved and found a new foster home for him. Nov 2, 2016 - Updated picture of Pepe (now being called Marley) in foster care. The cone is to keep him from scratching under his chin, where he has some pretty bad open sores, and the socks are to lessen the effect of him scratching his body elsewhere. Nov 9, 2016 - Marley has gained 2 pounds
  12. UPDATE NOVEMBER 11, 2016: Alex escaped from the nice people who were looking after him, and has again been found. He is not in an ideal situation right now, and we are looking for a safe place for him to stay. If you can open your heart and home to this handsome guys until he finds a forever home, please contact us. Alex was hit by a car on September 29th and wandered over to a nearby house. These people have generously offered to look after him. ARF took him to the vet to have his leg examined, and thankfully it was not broken, but a very bad sprain that will take some time to heal.

  14. Wendy We happened to follow up on a call to visit a finca near Isla Verde one hour after this pretty girl had given birth to her pups. She is now ready for adoption as all her pups are on their healthy way. Wendy is about two years old and gets along well with other dogs and loves to play. She is a bit on the quiet side – doesn’t bark much. She is on the smaller-medium size, and weighs about 40 lbs. Meet Bobby. He is about 6 months old and a handsome little guy. He is a very sweet and social dog. Bobby was rescued, along with his mom and 5 siblings from the Palo Alto

  17. Hello all, We are in urgent need of a temporary foster home for Linda. She is an older, very mellow dog. Her current foster has to leave for a family emergency and will be gone approximately 3 weeks. When you foster for ARF, we provide the food, medication, etc. All you need to do is provide a bit of love, and a safe place for our friends to lay their head. Please contact me on arf.boquete@gmail.com if you can help. 18. Chomba is a seven year old female that belonged to an elderly lady who passed away. She is ready to be adopted and will lose her foster home at the end of November when they return to the States. Chomba is very playful and can be an inside or outside dog. She grew up around other dog and cats and is a very friendly girl. 19. This is Abuela. She is approximately 7 years old and has been spayed. We do not know her story, as she simply “showed up” on someone’s doorstep one day. It is very obvious that for most of her life she was probably on a short chain. Her “elbows” and rear show signs that she was made to sit on a hard surface for long periods of time. Abuela has been tested positive for tick fever, so she will need to be on medication for 3 weeks. She has a very sweet disposition and just wants to be loved. Abuela is a large dog, approximately 70 pounds. When you foster an animal for ARF, a
  20. This beautiful dog is looking for a good home. The woman currently looking after him has this to say about him: "I live in Potrerillos. There is a beautiful, friendly, loving German Shepard in the neighborhood with bright blue eyes who needs a forever home. His owner barely made it out of the hospital 2 or 3 months ago. His health is in very poor condition and he has had to move into an apartment in David to be closer to the hospital. Unfortunately, the owner could not bring Sanatra with him. Therefore Sanatra is looking for a new home Sanatra gets along very well with my dog and he t
  21. Hello everyone! For July, the amount of the monthly donations were $1,796.00 (this included funds from our fundraiser Men Who Cook) and expenses totaled $1,309.00. Thank you to everyone who contributed! 3 dogs and 4 cats found their forever home this month….we are so happy for these furrys! If you have any friends or relatives looking for a pet, please direct them to our site or have them contact us, as we have many that will be ready for adoption in the coming weeks. We currently have 35 dogs/puppies and 12 cats/kittens under the ARF umbrella that we are caring for. A spe
  22. Onyx loves to play with other dogs. He knows "sit" and walks on a leash well. He will be 4 months old Aug. 30 and has been neutered. He is a confident little dog, not skittish, and not aggressive. He is learning how to be a "guard dog" from the other two dogs in his foster family. Onyx likes to be independent during the daytime, but likes a little lap time in the evening.....though he is getting big for that now! Onyx is a sweet boy, nice personality. Part Pitbull, part Lab, and pure Panamanian. Rudy Delgado Rudy is around 7-9 months old, medium to small sized shepherd mix. He
  23. Hi all, we are in need of a temporary foster for this dog. He has been wandering the streets near The Rock for some time now. A nice couple has offered to feed him, and help to build trust with us humans.....he is coming along but still a bit skittish. He is a beautiful dog, just in need of a little TLC. He will need the typical "clean up", vet check and possibly medication and/or supplements, which will be provided by ARF. If you think you have the patience, and love to offer this boy, please contact us. ARF is a small non-profit animal organization dedicated to the rescue,
  24. This sweet girl is looking for a foster home until she is ready for adoption. She is being treated for an infection right now (tablets in food), and we are hoping she will be ready to be spayed the end of July. She is currently tied up outside her owner's home, and we are looking for a foster home where she can be comfortable while healing. The owner has agreed to surrender her for adoption. If you can offer this girl a temporary spot, please contact us by email on arf.boquete@gmail.com.
  25. This girl was abandoned by her owners and is now roaming her neighborhood seeking attention. Lady is lucky enough to have run in to a kind lady who had her spayed and de-wormed and is feeding her on a temporary basis. She is a bit shy and timid, but that's understandable. She previously had a place to call home, and now that is gone, so she's probably a bit confused. She barks at strange noises which would make for a good watch dog. She is about a year old, and is just looking for someone to love her. Contact ARF at arf.boquete@gmail.com if you are interested in meeting her.
