Thank you to everyone who contributed. 1 cat and 5 dogs found their forever home! A special thank you goes out someone who would like to remain anonymous. She generously donated $200 to build an enclosure for the mom and puppies that were in danger of being poisoned in Palo Alto. She has also offered to pay for all food and medical expenses. Thank you XXXXX-You know who you are! The mom and pups are happy in their temporary home and will soon be available for adoption. I know we are starting to sound like a broken record at this point, but WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP. We are in urgent need of fosters and donations. We often hear from those in the community how much our efforts are valued and appreciated and we are grateful for your comments. We have, however, now reached a breaking point. As of the end of June, we have 23 dogs and 12 cats under the ARF umbrella and several more “waiting in the wings” to be moved to a safe place. We have been put in a position where we are now paying for boarding, and this has taken a significant toll on our monthly budget. Please consider fostering an animal if you are able to do so. When you foster an animal with ARF, we take care of all food and medical expenses – we just need you to provide a loving and protective environment. (Thank you to our recent fosters…Ryan, Charlotte, Judy and Holley for stepping forward) If you are not in the position to foster an animal, please consider making a donation. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Events: Our bingo event took place on June 23rd and all had a great time. For now, we have switched to a cash prize format and changed venue. We think this might be a bit of a “refresh” for this event and we hope you like the changes. Give us your feedback and let us know what you think! The next bingo event will take place in August and remember to invite your friends – the more people that attend, the bigger the cash prizes! Men Who Cook-Saturday, July 23, 2016, from 2:00pm-6:00pm. This will give all those great guys out there an opportunity to display their culinary skills while attendees can enjoy a wide range of dishes. This event has proven to be very popular in other areas of Panama and elsewhere. The men will cook their best dishes, and attendees will have a chance to sample all. Tickets are $20. There will be a cash bar, and the location for this event is spectacular! We are certain this event will be a great success and will have a spot on our yearly event calendar. Buy your tickets soon…..they are limited. Tickets are available at the Tuesday market and Mailboxes Etc. Presentation at the BCP – Tuesday, June 21st. ARF, in conjunction with Animales (remember, we are different organizations) made a presentation at the BPC. The event was well attended and everyone got an overview on the focus of each organization and how we operate. As a refresher – ARF focuses on the rescue, foster and adoption of neglected and abandoned animals. The concentration for Animales is the monthly spay and neuter clinic to ensure that as many animals as possible in the community are sterilized. Kris Berg from Howling Success also spoke about common skin problems found with dogs here in Panama. Here are a few of our friends needing a foster home: Lady, Conchita and Buddy.
