ARF May Report

Recommended Posts

The final amount for the monthly donations and expenses are not yet available, but please check our website later next week for details.

2 cats and 6 dogs found their forever home this month!

WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP-ARF continues to gain more awareness in the community and are receiving more calls regarding rescues and we are in urgent need of fosters and donations.   When you foster an animal with ARF, we take care of all food and medical expenses – we just need you to provide a loving and protective environment.  Any donation, no matter the amount, is greatly appreciated.

This month alone, we have taken on the responsibility of 29 dogs and 6 cats.  We do not have fosters for all of these animals, so in many cases, we provide medical care for them and must return them to their owners or where they were found, which are not ideal conditions.  Virginia is one cat that we would like to find foster for as soon as possible:

Virginia just gave birth to 3 kittens on May 25.  She is currently living in the bushes in Alto Boquete.  We need to find a safe and warm place for her to tend to her kittens.

As part of our obligations this month, we have taken on three female dogs that are either pregnant or have already given birth.  We have a total of 14 puppies so far that will be receiving all the proper medical care needed and will then be ready for adoption.  This includes de-worming, vaccinations, blood tests, spay/neutering, food and any other supplementary treatment required……this requires $$$$$.

We also came across Oso a few days ago.  This poor guy was attacked by a much larger dog and was roaming the streets crying in pain for several days before we could capture him.  He required 30 stitches in his neck and he also has tick fever, so it’s going to be a bit of a journey for this little guy.  He is very sweet and affectionate.  When he is ready for adoption, it will be one very lucky person who can call this guy their faithful companion.  Oso is an older gentle dog – about 5 years old.

Final notes:

We have a bingo event scheduled for June 23rd and we will be trying a new format (cash prizes) so mark your calendar and invite all your friends……the more people that participate the bigger the cash prizes!

We are also working on an exciting event for early July….Men Who Cook.  This will give all those great guys out there an opportunity to display their culinary skills while attendees can enjoy a wide range of dishes.  Details to be announced soon.

ARF will be taking part in a presentation at the BCP on Tuesday, June 21.  The focus will be on animal care, emergency services, fostering and adopting pets.  Animales will also be speaking about the spay/neuter clinic.  Please make sure to stop by and check it out.

Please visit our website to view other furry friends for adoption.  If you would like to help us help the animals of Boquete and surrounding areas, you can make a donation to ARF by visiting our website:  http://www.arf-boquete.com/donate.html
