Moderator comment: The following was extracted from an email received from the Gomez Tomiczek Law firm. Although it talks about their modified business hours due to the upcoming national celebrations, this is a good summary of what is happening, and in general reflects many of the commercial business closures, as well as the government office closures.

Upcoming Holidays: Office Schedule

November is known as the National Month of Panama, on which several celebrations are performed in different provinces with the purpose of honoring historical events related to independence as a Republic.

On the following national holidays all public and private offices, as well as banks etc. will be closed:

  • November 3rd (Separation Day Panama from Colombia)
  • November 5th (Province of Colon Day)
  • November 10th (Province of Los Santos Uprising Day)
  • November 28th (Independence Day Panama from Spain)

In December Panama's Holidays do not vary much from the ones in other countries around the world.

  • December 8th (Mother's Day)
  • December 25th (Christmas Day)
IMPORTANT!
We have a hardworking and very committed team that needs a break every once in a while. This is why Gomez Tomiczek Law Firm will be on company vacations from December 24th, 2020 until January 6th, 2021. Both our offices in Vienna/Austria and Boquete/Panama will be closed during this time. We will be back with fully recharged batteries on January 7th, 2021.

Even though these dates might seem perfect for traveling to Panama, in order to create a business, to apply for a residence permit, or to purchase real estate. We recommend calculating some extra time for delays, as most of the government institutions and ministries are closed for more days than the ones mentioned before.

Viva Panamá and happy holidays!

Feiertage in Panama - Büroöffnungszeiten
