The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) is on alert for the 42nd Tropical wave, currently in the Caribbean, between Panama and Colombia.

It is expected to arrive in Panama in the early hours of Sunday, October 18, causing heavy rains with storms in various parts of the country, according to Etesa's hydrometeorology forecasts.

The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) reported this Saturday that the incursion of a tropical wave No. 42 over Panama is expected.
The institution indicated that the tropical wave could be generating unstable conditions in the coming days.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone is coupled in a low pressure system over the Caribbean between Panama and Colombia, and with the axis of Tropical Wave No. 42, said the entity.

The population is recommended to follow the rules of the authorities and rescuers in general.

- Be willing to update the weather warnings and bulletins issued by the Hydrometeorology Directorate on the weather conditions.

- Avoid carrying out any activity outdoors, in the presence of lighting activity.

- Take precautionary measures and reminds them that under bad weather conditions there may be floods of tributaries or streams, gusts of winds, frequent or occasional lighting activity.
