Heavy rains on Wednesday, October 7 left nine Veraguas communities incommunicado after the flooding of the Las Lajas river destroyed the bridge of the place, confirmed reports the  National Civil Protection System ( Sinaproc).

Sinaproc director  Carlos Rumbo said that the area has been cordoned off and that the affected areas in the Santa Fe district are under constant monitoring.

According to weather forecasts, heavy rains are expected to continue in the next few days across f the country.

Sinaproc alert for tropical storm 40

The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc)  issued a  surveillance  alert  on Friday, October 9 as tropical wave  No.40 crosses the country generating heavy rains and storms the for 20-30 hours
