Road Works: Works in Panama Relaunched

After the Ministry of Health approved the reactivation of these works, which had been halted since March of this year due to the covid-19 outbreak, 27 road infrastructure projects were restarted nationwide on August 17.

These are five projects located in Panama, four in West Panama, another four in Chiriqui, two in Bocas del Toro, eight in Cocle and one each in the provinces of Los Santos, Herrera, Veraguas and the Ngäbe Bugle region.

The Ministry of Public Works detailed in a statement that the reactivated projects are the following:

1. Study, Design, Construction and Maintenance of works for the rehabilitation of the Transistmica road, section Plaza Agora. San Isidro Station. This project has a physical advance of 80%.

2. Study, Design, Construction and Maintenance for the expansion and rehabilitation of the Pan-American Highway, section Las Americas-Arraijan bridge. The work has a physical progress of 31.9%.

3. Consorcio Panama Cuarto Puente (China Communications Construction Company and China Harbour Engineering Company), with 0.17% progress.

4. Widening of the Pedregal-Gonzalillo-Transistmica "Corredor Panama Norte" highway. This work has a physical progress of 88.1%.

5. Enlargement to six lanes of the Las Playas Corridor, section 1: La Chorrera-Santa Cruz; work with a physical progress of 2.56%.

6. Design and construction for the rehabilitation and widening of the Arraijan-La Chorrera highway, whose progress is 58.25%.

7. Widening of the La Concepción- Cuesta de Piedra- Volcan road. This project is carried out by the company Bagatrak, S.A. and has a physical advance of 13.6%.

8. Design and construction for the rehabilitation of the Pedasi-Los Asientos-Cañas road. Its progress is 13.03%.

9. Design and construction for the rehabilitation of the streets of Chitré with an advance of 35.03%.

10. Studies, design and construction for the rehabilitation of the CPA-El Jaguito-Calobre road with an advance of 16.25%.
