Panama's quarantine now extended to 24 hours a day, effective Wednesday, March 25 at 5:01 AM

The government of Panama has just declared a total lock down of the country. Quoting a TeleMetro news article released at 6:11PM today, Tuesday, March 24th:

"The health team has made the decision and we are executing it at this time, which will extend the quarantine to 24 hours starting tomorrow, Wednesday at 5:01 am," said the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo.

Citizens may circulate only to stock up on food and medicine. The mobility of Panamanians and resident foreigners will depend on the last number of personal identification card or passport.
